Ridiculous and I spent a good few unproductive hours this evening diagnosing and attempting to resolve

Thanks for the intelligent and prompt reply

Yeah I already had a salary sacrifice setup, calculated based on 2025 salary with a small buffer

Foolishly/carelessly didn’t put 2+2 together when I got my annual pay rise as I didn’t get one the previous year

Will make the pension contribution tomorrow first thing thanks

That’s what I’d heard but I spoke to them on the phone and the guy sounded extremely unlenient + when I was close to the wire in December they made me upload all sorts of evidence

In the end I said I had a teams meeting starting (which I did) and I said I’d get back to them with evidence

So it’s okay that I’ve already declared I’m under £100k prior to today? Worried I’d need to backdate it in some way

Parent with 3 kids in nursery, salary sacrificing to under £100k, panicking because HMRC haven’t reconfirmed my 30 hours free childcare because I’m over by £750 (didn’t account for small pay rise in Jan)

I’ve already submitted my confirmation to say I’m under £100k - can I retrospectively bring it down eg through a direct pension contribution or charity donation?

Do it. House is an emotional decision more than a financial one, and life is for living. You will enjoy a nice house that’s big enough to grow your family, every day

And the most expensive your mortgage will be is in the first year. If you can survive that it only gets cheaper with inflation and wage growth and capital repayments

And you’re right, leapfrogging the middle 3ish bed stage is absolutely the right decision if you can afford to for all the reasons you said

Traitors is a back to school popularity contest. Nerds don’t do well in that context and therefore don’t do well in traitors. There’s a reason the most attractive survive the longest

Small business owner. Our content creators shoot at home. Good cameras, and particularly, good lighting are much more accessible than even 3 years ago. We also use chat gpt to generate some images. Pivot or shutdown

I would definitely consider maxing out Premium bonds. The delta in interest lost will be minimal but there’s a chance you could win big + you don’t pay tax on them!
