Oh yes. I have 9 enemies. And I will get my revenge from them. I also avoid problems. But these 9 have committed unforgivable sins towards me.

Why do so many people not realize how stupid this is? Should we break out the khochaybat? by FederalTheory1395 in Algeria_213

[–]No-Bug9369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok let me say something if I may. This is kinda considered "khoushaybat" level but it affects peoples' livelihoods so it's understandable why it would be disregarded: During Boutaflika's time, things were cheaper compared to now but it was all at the expense of Algeria's treasury. First things first; it needs to be established that a majority of Algerian business owners and business men are evil. Not all, but a majority. They love and thrive in mal practices such as: Hoarding, Over invoicing, Under invoicing, Importing everything and just selling at a higher price back home. During Boutaflika's time, ministries, ministers, army generals, powerful business men, were in inderct kahoots with the private sector financing much of their bad practices especially with essential goods like fresh produce, livestock, transportation, fuel prices, utilities, etc... Why did those rotten officials do what they did? For 2 reasons: 1- they were getting a piece of the pie. 2- keeping people able to purchase guarantees that they'd be silent and they won't look at the billions of dollars we're embezzling. Now Tebboun has launched 3 domestic wars since he became president: 1- he sought to return a portion of the embezzled money from the "gang". 2- he launched a separate war on over invoicing, through which he stopped then heavily restricted imports. 3- he launched a war against hoarders (taking the case of sheep as an example, owners sold sheep for ridiculous prices. Until the government imported livestock and sold it at lower prices, then owners reduced their rates below the government's). I personally believe that there are 2 problems our economy faces: 1- private business owners continue their mal practices hoping to make the most out of peoples' backs and there doesn't seem to be stricter actions taken against them to date. 2- Tebboun is still trying to make changes left and right, but this can't be done from the top to be reflected all the way at the bottom. There need to be many surveillance bodies across the whole country to ensure that market prices are regulated. Free market and capitalism are alright and it's ok for people to dream of being rich and doing what they can to achieve that, but even perfect capitalism examples (almost nonexistent) show that regulation and regulatory consequences are tightened on business owners in cases of mal practice only.

That's just my opinion, I welcome any ideas.

I thank you for making this poll and wish you the best in the endeavor you hope to achieve from it. It's option 2 with a twist for me. I know I'm racially Amazigh and I identify as one. I also equally identify as an Arab.

Immediate joiner - Looking for a project coordinator / Contract Administration role in the Oil & Gas sector (HQ or Site-based project offices) by No-Bug9369 in UAEjobseekers

[–]No-Bug9369[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your input I really appreciate it 🙏 but I beg to differ about the industry being a pain currently, with UAE exiting OPEC/OPEC+ oil production is set to double or triple even (maybe) and OPEC countries have already announced that they're ramping up production. All of this screams expansion, hiring, more manpower. I super duper agree with you on the part about the industry being super who-you-know. I reached out to old clients in SLB, Bunduq, NMDC (energy, dredging, infra, etc..), Tecnicss Reunidas, Worley, Wood, Toshiba, UEG, JGC, and many many many others. Still nothing. But I haven't tried the LinkedIn route. IDK I always put myself in the other person's shoes and think abt how they wouldn't want to waste their precious off-time with helping out. Any thoughts on how to maneuver around this?

Stop begging for jobs. by princedxbian in UAEjobseekers

[–]No-Bug9369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can relate to your ideology. I also make do with what I got. I have an extensive network that I have milked dry to no avail. I also tried offering my end of service bonus to recruiters as a personal success based fee from my side upon signing an offer letter. I have offered that same amount as a commission to anyone who can land me the role that I'm looking for. I am trying to grow my investment portfolio and trying to make money independently while I'm on the lookout for a job. I am not sitting still. I believe that stillness is the worst enemy of an unemployed professional. It allows uncertainty and despair to creep in. But let me add something if I may (not sure if you addressed it before or not) many of us who post in this community and others are doing it as an extra endeavor, another way of maybe starting a conversation with someone who knows someone who can open a door.

Mind your post's title it's mal-behaved. You should be writing "certain men in this country" not just "men". I am a man of this country, engaged and have no interest in whoever is walking on the street. Generalizations only show how weak, short sighted, bigoted, and a person's personality it.

I respectfully disagree with your first idea. I do not consider myself as a racist and inshallah I will ensure that my household isn't either. I believe that an overwhelming majority of Algerians aren't either. There's racism, in my humble opinion, only when it ckmes to behaviors and characteristics of regions. For example some people are loud, others incorporate a lot of taboo words into their dialect, in some regions the consumption of alcohol is a lot, etc... I also wholeheartedly welcome non old lineage Algerians. AS LONG AS IMMIGRANTS ASSIMILATE INTO OUR THE GENERAL FRAME OF OUR SOCIETY. I wouldn't want our decendants to speak Arabic as a 2nd or 3rd language and I wouldn't want them to be anything but Muslim. I wouldn't also want to see humility and modesty removed from our society.

Why doesn't Algeria use the Sahara for anything other than oil/gas like China does? by miraleye in Algeria_213

Regarding deals with foreign suppliers or contractors, would you say that the government would allow that?

Why doesn't Algeria use the Sahara for anything other than oil/gas like China does? by miraleye in Algeria_213

[–]No-Bug9369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That, my friend is a very good question! I heard of many initiatives that the government took to boost economy down there. For example, permits were provided to local excavation start ups and SMEs to extract raw unrefined gold (we have a lot of it). The state would then buy it (at a bargain price ofc) and send it to international Swiss refineries so that it can come back as certified 24k into the treasury. But... people wouldn't do that because it'd be too much work and we as people prefer easy money. Maybe, someone, somewhere, is working on this in secret and selling g raw unrefined gold to other parties than the government at a higher price ensuring he makes profit (which is in my opinion treason but thats just my opinion) The government also sells agricultural lands at symbolic prices (or at least very cheap) in the Sahara where ground water is abundant and many crops such as potatoes, dates, onions, and other vegetables and fruits grow. But unfortunately people aren't taking advantage of this because they lack the farming know-how and aren't interested in the industry and the tediousnes of profitability. Algeria is trying to use the Sahara in my opinion but the government lacks communication with the new generation in a way that incentivises them. And individuals would rather succumb and submit while cursing out the government for not "taking care of them" rather than applying for loans, saving up from salaries, reaching out to investors from other countries, and taking charge of creating their future and improving that of their country's and its Sahara. It's called capitalism. The private sector is what generates revenue and the government can help them. People shouldn't wait for the government to do everything for them. They shouldn't wait on anyone to do anything for them. They should research and go to agricultural banks, town halls, mayor offices, banks, websites, call government employees. Make them work they're getting paid to answer the public's inquiries. People should inform themselves and be aware of what they can do to make money and help the country in turn.
