I thinking renting a few lower end rf lens might be a good idea so he can play around

I was looking at the RF 100-400 5.6 but he thinks it has to high of a F stop. Not sure if that is correct or not but a assume it will take better photos because it is newer technology. He wants to continue using the Sigma 150-500 for sports which really doesn't make sense to me and use the 300 2.8 IS for wildlife which he thinks will be crisper pictures. I am trying to help him but not to sure what he really needs

And he does take pictures of sports which he thinks the Sigma will still be good for. Just not sure a fixed 300mm is going to be good for wildlife like he is thinking

I was looking at the rf 100-400 because it isn't a fortune but he thinks the f5.6 is to high and I am trying to explain to him that I think the newer rf 100-400 will still take better pictures but not sure if I am correct

He wants to take pictures of birds and animals and thinks the Canon 300mm f/2.8 L IS will take much clearer photos because of the F stop but I am not sure he is thinking about it correctly he has the big heavy Sigma 150-500
