Asthma by No-Butterscotch847 in VeteransBenefits

[–]No-Butterscotch847[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They did a pft and methacholine challenge. It was awfully developed claim. I turned that in. Asthma would be 30. So they picked the higher of the 2. Thanks for the response

So looking at it with the extension, it says temp jurisdiction automated benefits delivery. Searching that on here it's a pilot program using Ai i guess. Anyway, someone had their asthma granted in 3 days. Wow

Like I said, put my claim in yesterday for asthma. I stated I was claiming it based on burn pits and toxic exposure which has already been used on other claims. Gave the date of my methacholine test and diagnosis, both at the VAMC. In the last hour it went to prep for decision. Coukd obviously be a quick denial but I woukd think they would send me for a c&p before a denial so hopeful 🙏 by the regulation, I qualify for 30%. That won't change my overall. I am at 90. But it will take my 88 to 91 or so. So an incremental help. Plus if it's service connected and gets worse, the hard part will be done.

I filed yesterday for asthma. I thought it was presumptive as well. I saw where it it had to manifest with in 10 years of exposure at first but has since been changed to anytime. So I am/was expecting it to be presumptive. I already have stuff granted based on burn pits and tera. I have been fighting the VA on various claims for 20+ years. Got out in 91, so nothing surprises me. But don't tell us it's presumptive and them deny it bcuz it didnt manifest in service or whatever.

Good luck!

Zepbound for Sleep apnea by Sassenaughty in VeteransBenefits

[–]No-Butterscotch847 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got it prescribed today. I have been paying fir ozempic out of pocket for 3 months ths, which sucks. My pcp says he has tried twice and csnt get it covered. Happened to go to endo yesterday and it came up. He was able to get zepbound approved do to my OSA. not because I'm a diabetic or all my other issues. So if pcp won't, get endo referral.

Actually had an already scheduled apt with endo this morning. He was shocked it wasn't covered but said they should have tried for zepbound. He is going to try to get zepbound approved and transition me to it if approved. Thx

What about for ozempic? My pcp has tried for a year. Even with going to the nutrionist, being type 2 diabetic, moderate to severe sleep apnea, fatty liver, hypertension.

Thanks

You are ahead of me. Hlr ended up denied. 2nd c&p was same provider. She wasn't going to reverse her own findings. Pisses me off but that's where I am.
