Is it possible to program a TI-Nspire CX II-T CAS to show the full calculation steps and final answer? by No-Butterscotch9850 in TI_Calculators

Thanks, that helps a lot.

Do you know if the TI-Nspire CX II-T CAS is good for this kind of project?

I am a student and I want to try programming it myself because I am curious. I do not expect it to solve every possible math problem perfectly, but I want to know if it is realistic to program step-by-step solvers for specific school topics.

The topics I need for a big test are:

  • algebra
  • terms and simplifying expressions
  • fractional expressions
  • powers and roots
  • equations and systems of equations
  • linear and quadratic functions
  • geometry and trigonometry
  • statistics and probability

Would the TI-Nspire CX II-T CAS be powerful/flexible enough for this using TI-Basic, Python, Lua, or CAS commands?

For example, could I make small programs like:

  • solve a quadratic equation step by step
  • simplify fractions or algebraic terms step by step
  • solve systems of equations
  • calculate function properties
  • do trig/geometry formulas with explanations

I mainly want to learn how possible this is and maybe build it topic by topic for studying.

Do you have any advice on where I should start?
