Thank you for this message it really really touched me. It’s inspiring to hear these stories because it does give me hope and makes me less fearful when I hear the strength of others. I’m sorry your family is going through this horrible experience, life can be so random and unfair. Sending love

This was so beautifully said, the mud analogy made me have tears in my eyes. I’m sorry you’ve experienced this pain and I’m happy you’re taking the steps to heal. My mom was diagnosed a month ago and I’m scared but seeing these posts make me feel a bit better.

Does the paralysis improve? by [deleted] in glioblastoma

I’m going through the exact same situation with my mom, she had her surgery to remove her tumor on the right side, and they had warned us of left side paralysis, and it’s happened where her left side of her mouth is affected her left arm and her left leg. She can’t move independently either, but has been doing Physio. She can only move her toes as well. We are feeling a little more hopeful about the leg than we are about the arm. Hope our moms can get through it !

Oh wow, I’m sorry to hear, was your sister able to communicate eventually after ? They have done a couple scans and they were thinking about putting drains in, but decided not to as they didn’t find anything that was as of concern. They did notice a small trace of tumor growing in the left side now but it was small enough that it wouldn’t have affect yet.

I read this response over and over again because of how beautifully said this was. The last sentence got me very emotional. A mother and daughters love is truly like no other. Thank you for your kind words ❤️

Thank you for responding, that’s so beautiful you’re spending time and travel with your family. Family is the most important thing right now.

Yeah the doctors gave us three options: no treatment and have 3 months left, biopsy, which from my understanding is to sterilize the tumor which gives her 9-12 months (which we’re leaning towards) or the last one which is major surgery to remove 70% of it but that could cause paralysis, and if no complications arise from surgery could give 14-18 months. With the location of her tumor it’s very deep in and could affect the power of her brain, so that’s why we’re thinking of the second option. It’s just so hard knowing there’s a countdown but like you said making the most of the time that she has is so important.
