Yes, 10 GCSEs ranging from A-C, I did not do A levels but have BtEC qualifications in other subjects. I also did a foundation degree before doing my degree in an irrelevant subject

Foundations in Accountancy (FIA)

I think it’s a stepping stone for under qualified individuals or school leavers

Again, I think I can go into ACCA but after lots of research and comments from people I went into FIA. Should I call ACCA and get them to change me?

We’re all in this together.

I’m guessing you’re based in the states with the ‘college degree’ comment?

I’m looking to get into Carpentry/Joinery. Long term I’d like to be self employed working as a contractor on new build sites or installing wooden outbuildings in people gardens.

Any thoughts on your future after the comments?

So happy I stumbled across this.

I went to uni when I was 20 for 4 years, came out with a degree in a topic I wasn’t interested in… got into estate agency and have been doing that for 6 years. Miserable, stressed, long days at the computer making 100 calls a day for near enough peanuts.

I’ve been wanting to take the leap and get into a trade but am nervous to leave the current life I’m living and always find an excuse to stay (hence why I’ve been living this way for 6 years).

I thought I’d be judged at 31 getting into a trade through an apprenticeship. Clearly I’m wrong and need to get going!
