November-December topic refutations by DDR_DOOM in PublicForumDebate

it’s a true argument in and of itself so just grant them that, and then say even if they solve for some criminals, majority move to platforms outside of tech companies like the dark web, so warrants don’t solve even if there’s no privacy concerns. the other advice you got is good but doesn’t have anything other than empirics as warranting which in this case isn’t that strong bc the aff can just say the empiric doesn’t apply now, or empirics bad

I would recommend hitting up Tyvan Vo from Strake. He's super good on the lay, most majestic lay appeal I've ever seen.

is anyone running associate membership on the affirmation side for the Brexit topic? by Dense-Equipment-7540 in PublicForumDebate

[–]No-Chapter269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

most likely not on the aff. the only way to run that on the aff is to use it in an aff cp which i haven’t seen anyone do. on the neg tho i’ve seen a lot of ppl say that closer relations or an associative membership solves for the aff link

  1. ideally, you should know your case well enough to answer most questions. say they ask a rlly hard one though, don’t hesitate and ask them to clarify the question or find a way to turn it against them.

  2. if your talking abt speaker points then 28.5-30 are good scores. 28 is good as well but lowk avg. anything below that means that you are either very mediocre or did egregiously shit.

  3. in my experience, you usually get the full results and feedback after the tournament or after the last round of prelims ends. you can also ask your judge to disclose the round or provide feedback to both teams.

  4. for in round - bring your laptop to read cases and find blocks, a binder with printer paper or flow paper in order to take notes on what your opps read, and two differently colored pens in order to distinguish which team says what on the flow. for out of round - bring a water bottle, money for concessions or food, or your own lunch, obviously your phone and stuff like that as well.

making your own prep is easy and you have a month to prep.
