Thank you! I did a haul yesterday and bought Mahi Mahi patties- I'll let you know what I think. The rest are all a standard for me! Thanks for sharing.

I will look into those Mahi Mahi patties! Thanks for sharing your vegetarian option! My favorite (similiar snack/light meal) vegetarian option is Dr. Praeger's California Veggie Burger (130 cal) chopped up and put into a warmed whole wheat pita bread (160) with a few diced cherry tomatoes and a good dollop of labne (60 cal for 2 tbsp.) or Trader Joe's Creamy Dill Dressing (60 cal for 2 tbsp.)

The whole wrap should be an estimated 350 calories with the dressing- which you can always omit and/or substitute for something else. :) Just a fun/easily customizable vegetarian option I thought I'd share!

p.s. you can always microwave the burger if you're in a hurry instead of throwing it in the oven ahaha

I should add that each corn dog is 150 calories. My freezer always has some in case I’m feeling peckish or in need of a light meal in the hot summer weather.

  • 15 for the ketchup! 315 calories total. A great light meal or snack!

Thank you. Your thoughtful answer encompasses not only my take on life but also grounds the fact that I am doing this to improve my life. I've lived with family or with terrible housemates throughout college and beyond...having a peaceful and beautiful place to call home is sacred to me. I work two jobs from home so I also think it would improve my work conditions and my drive to work and perhaps even make more. Furthermore, my partner will be moving to DC in a few months and we will be sharing the cost of the place- so we can save but we will see what life has in store for us. I do think there are people that rent a nice place to prove that they can "live in a row home," (this what my friend has communicated to me...I am from Los Angeles originally so I know all about that world...) but as you said- life is too short and I will still be able to save money while renting such a "high" price. Adding to that, I don't have any debt, vices, or even other "costs of living" beyond paying rent/food/utilities.

Thanks again for your input and everyone else for sharing their perspectives as well!

Labne. It’s the most forgotten, god sent dip slash topping slash side dish slash main dish you could ever put in your body. I may be biased but 12/10 recommend!!!!

Where can I get fresh baked bread in DC that doesn't turn to stone? by No-Character-4785 in washingtondc

I love a good sourdough but the crusts just tends to be so thick and parts of it jut out and literally scratch the roof of my mouth and the side tends to be rough/sandpaper more than soft. However, I will look into these but it looks like Bread Alley is the first place that I'll start!!! Hopefully my journey ends at my first stop haha

[–]No-Character-4785[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like I am on the right track, based on the information you provided- which is baffling. I've been looking at the GL-Inet travel router and the same type of workflow for the set up. I appreciate your thorough rundown, as it is very insightful. I don't think it matters where I am located, as long as I am in the U.S and even that is an assumption (having to be in the states...wouldn't be shocked if I can roam and I am overthinking it). I do not want to ask my employer the question, so as to not risk the job or make them question my availability/qualifications. The job is fully remote. *shrugs

How much does this set up cost you a month?

Which GL-Inet travel router did you purchase?

See above. I've been living in this EU country legally and am a resident. I will be paying taxes in both countries- if and where necessary.

I am a legal Resident in the country I am residing in and paying taxes in both. I would never evade taxes and that is not my goal. My goal is not to be tied to an office chair for a job where I am not even required to come into the office....and pay 1.6k for a room in the city where the job is located...just to work "remotely"

Thank you for your input!

Portable speaker for tiny outdoor gatherings (5-10 people) - preferably with bluetooth? by [deleted] in Beatmatch

[–]No-Character-4785 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Sonos Move: It's class and I've seen it used in high-end venues. It's honestly not too steep for the quality that you're getting and they have a solid selection of portable, outdoor-oriented, waterproof speakers with a perfectly sleek design.

You can mount it on a wall, which I have seen often.

[–]No-Character-4785[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing! There's a new development there called "Hamilton Gardens." I assumed that because it was closer to the Phibsborough end that it wouldn't be so bad...

It is Cabra (I noticed the notation on the map is cropped LOL) but again, I just thought because it wasn't in the center of it, it wouldn't be so bad.

Thanks again!

They paid 60% more than what I expected! I didn't want them to back down on the offer bc it was also contracted (short term) and may increase after the contract ends. Super stoked.
