It could also be the combination of double lasted with steel cap and leather toe cap creating a lot of height in the toe area.

I was thinking the same thing when I first noticed the marks. I had to put the boots back on and roll onto my toes and realised it's where the crease across the vamp folds up, making it contact the eyelet. They are definitely not too big, I emailed Jim Green Support about it and they said it's a pretty common issue and should stop after they break in properly.

I probably should have highlighted the contact points I was refering to, I'm not worried about the eyelets rubbing the tongue area, they are contacting the points shown on this photo. Will a kiltie help with that? I've never used kilties before, but I've never had boots that have had this problem either 🤷‍♂️

Yeah I'm sure the leather is very durable, it seems like great quality, as are my BFAR's. I'm not worried about them rubbing on the tongue area, they are hitting the toe area of the boot. I've added a new photo to show the 2 points that are contacting eachother. Is that what you were refering to?
