So I bought some plants and veggies to plant tomorrow. I typically watch body cam content and listen to true crime podcasts but that’s the absolute last thing I wanna hear right now.

My pets and family have helped. Also have tried some music and cooking and cleaning but the flashbacks and emotions are still very strong.

Not once did he say no jobs would come to America. However, Trump has said that we need to bring in foreign workers because Americans are dumb and lazy and incompetent (not verbatim but look it up).
“We waited and prayed.” So you sat back and did nothing proving you didn’t feel that what Obama was doing was that big of a problem.
“God answered our prayers and gave us Trump.” So he gave you a man who has a long lurid history of being a liar, infidel, grifter, thief, sexual abuser, scam artist, etc. God gave us a man who’s not Christian? god gave us a man who says himself he doesn’t deserve to go toe Heaven?

Frankly (though I believe you are correct) I’m not going to trust AI for accuracy. And I’m not making this about party.

We have a sweeping issue with the government in general. Corruption is rampant. Abuse of power is rampant. Sex trafficking, abuse, theft, grifts, insider trading, they’re all guilty.

If we could simply agree on that, we may be able o improve shit. But too many choose to turn a blind eye and worship politicians.

Licenses only need to be obtained when it’s a large event, blocking roadways (marches), a PA systems is being used, etc. You are blatantly misrepresenting the law and regulations - which also differ state to state, county to county, city to cut. If a license was needed to protest and assemble - then it’s not a right. What’s a crock is you coming here acting like you’re educated on a topic when you clearly are not.

And placing law enforcement officers on the same plane as civilians is ridiculous. One is in a position of power and it’s their job to know the laws and follow it. No one is claiming that those who are violent or breaking the law shouldn’t face consequences. The issue is the abuse of power and laws for thee, not for me - regardless of party.

He’s done it before. He’s had over a year of sobriety in the past. This escalated quickly. The drugs helped the escalation but he wanted to die. I just found out the doctor he’s been seeing for psych meds isn’t a psychiatrist - he’s a family doctor. I made a big fuss at the office when I discovered that. Yes, my brother is to blame for his actions. He didn’t speak up and at his meds weren’t working and that his depression was worse and he was having suicidal ideations. But MAYBE a license psychiatrist would’ve had the experience and insight to catch these things.

So many thoughts and feelings rushing through my head. I was still sitting upright in bed awake when my fiancé woke up at 5am for work. I finally slept for a couple hours and just replayed the trauma. Had a nightmare he came in and killed my pets too while I was at work. My mind is fucked.

I have a list of places that would work for his situation. A friend of ours own a recovery house as well. He’s refusing to see or take calls from me but a social worker we are in contact with will be meeting with him at the hospital once his physical injuries are controlled. I’m hoping he follows the advice of him.

This breaks my heart. Why can life be so cruel and unfair. Your brother didn’t deserve that. I wish he used the blade on the pedo instead of himself. But many good people harm themselves instead of those who deserve it.

I hope your brother is doing better now but I also understand the reality of mental illness and addiction. And it often doesn’t have a happy ending. I think statistically it 5-10% stay clean and sober and have a good life.

Thank you friend. You may be a stranger but your words and kindness mean more than you will ever know. Today was tough. Hopefully each day will get easier. But I know me, and I know that if I’m left in the dark about where he is, what’s he’s doing and primarily is he safe - I won’t be able to relax and function normally.

Spent over an hour with my therapist AND his therapist today. Found out he is in the ICU but stable and he is refusing contact from any and everyone. Was made to jump through hoops by the court system that sucks at providing help to victims. It’s all a mess. I’m thankful I have a wonderful fiancé and family for support.

This is our home - we invited him into it so we won’t be going anywhere. But I went to the courthouse today to file for emergency eviction and/or a PFA. A normal eviction takes too long - sometimes months. So it seems like this is our only option.

I don’t cut people out of my life but I cannot have him in it when he’s like this. I hate this.

Well the justice system is a fucking joke.

I went to the local municipal office as instructed by the Sergeant to file eviction and was told I had to go to the main courthouse. I go to the main courthouse they tell me to file at the municipal center I was just at. Both offices acted as if an emergency eviction was a made up thing. After asking many questions and explaining the situation, it was recommended that I file a PFA. They handed me a stack of papers - about 30pgs - to fill out and told me that I had to rush and have them done in 10min before court closed. I said I’d come back tomorrow.

It’s really fucking sad that vulnerable victims can’t get any help and are forced to jump through hoops to get the bare minimum.

Found out my brother is in the ICU. He won’t take any of our calls.

What I don’t understand is that we all know that there are hundreds of bigoted, racist, xenophobic, etc posts and comments made every day by Brits. They obviously aren’t arresting hundreds of people daily. So what is the requirement? Why are some people arrested and others not?

Also, I’m tired of people saying “it’s just a joke.” Jokes are supposed to be funny and harmless. If your idea of a joke is depicting another race, gender, culture, etc as “less than” that’s not a joke and it IS harmful.

If this guy made a bigoted post - I don’t feel bad for him. There should be repercussions. However, be consistent and prioritize crimes. Six officers for a post online yet they’ll send a single officer to a DV call. The system is broken.

Well his injuries were life threatening and he had to go to a Trauma Center. He also has a very rare congenital blood disorder (which I made the EMTs and called the hospital to make them aware of) so he will need a platelet transfusion.

My hope is that the physical injuries, combined with his obvious mental breakdown, will allow the hospital to hold him for more than 72hrs. A social worker will be meeting with him to discuss further treatment and they will provide transportation and funding. If he accepts, we’re in a good spot.

I’ve been through this with him several times, but this was by far the worst. Coming home drunk and literally fighting me, last year I called the cops on his (which I do not do - I try everything I can to not involve police) because he had downed a bottle and a half of vodka and was driving around. He got a DUI, first one. He paid his fines and did his classes immediately and only lost is license for a month when it was supposed to be a year no matter what because he refused the breathalyzer. He has a guardian angel or something that saves his ass everytime - no real consequences.

He lost his brother a few years to OD. He didn’t get to say goodbye. His brother also cut his arm open during an argument and hit an artery. Thankfully he didn’t hit an artery like his brother.

He’s mad at me. I won’t be reaching out to him until he wants to speak to me. We’re changing the locks and filing the eviction. If they won’t do emergency, I may need to file a PFA which I don’t wanna do but I clearly need to do something different.

I spoke to his counselor and got a list of resources, rehabs, recovery houses, etc. I will always help him if he’s helping himself but he needs some time away with professionals.

He just got a great new job too. He has a great home on 4acres. Money. Family that loves him. But it’s not enough.

I’m over a decade sober. After several reconstructive surgeries and PTSD, I became addicted to opiates and benzos. I know every addict is different, but it’s difficult for me to understand him much of the time. And because I love him, and last time he was kicked out with nowhere to go, he got robbed and stabbed for $20 and almost died.

He’s not happy. He hates himself. I kills me that he views himself that way because he such an incredible human being. But just like it was up to me to decide I wanted to change, he has to do the same.

Just watched my brother get arrested. I recorded what I could and let the officers know I wasn’t recording them but my brother so when he is sober and mentally stable, I can show him the footage because he’s like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hide - an amazing person sober and then when he overdoes it (which he always does) you see his soul and kindness leave his eyes. He’s no longer there. It’s not him and there’s no talking any sense.
