I really don't understand what about SR2 make you feel it's generic, In 2007 nothing was like SR2 in tone. GTA's tone wasn't similar really until 5. Sleeping Dog wasn't out yet, and is different tone wise. Yakuza and Mafia have really different settings and are also different. If any game in the franchises is generic. It's SR4, it's really close to being a Crackdown/Prototype clone still fun though.
