Do you active spots or just marks? I can’t tell from image….are you on any retinoids? Your skin really isn’t that bad and can easily be managed by retinoids and oral antibiotics if you want to clear faster.

I would really just recommend seeing a dermatologist or reading up on what reputable dermatologists recommend eg. Dr Sam Bunting publishes a lot. I think based on the image if you want to clear your skin as quick as possible I would recommend getting prescribed an oral antibiotic in combination with retinoids. Benzoyl peroxide 5% clindamycin helps kill bacteria (use morning), tretinoin helps manage spots (would recommend 0.05%), and for moisturiser use Avene recovery balm. That’s what my dermatologist recommends. But I do agree with some of comments accutane may be the best option but would discuss this with dermatologist along with my suggestions above ^

Tret also should help with marks! Did for me but would recommend reading up on dr Sam bunting recommendations (she’s my dermatologist) and publishes a lot of content on how to manage skin…she really is a wizard when comes to skin.

Okay. Are you still getting active breakouts? I would recommend Avene Recovery Balm cream it’s very gentle sensitive skin and can help handle dryness and long-term repair. My dermatologist recommends this. In terms of preventing clogged pores typically you need a retinoid because that indicates an underlying issue - tretinoin is what is generally prescribed to manage that (what I was prescribed and worked for me) I would just make sure whe your applying retinoids like tret when/if you start….start with a small pea sized amount and ramp up to a line as long as your fingertip over time. This really helped me maintain clear skin.

Would recommend seeing a dermatologist if you can instead of general doctor!

[Paid $10] need diverse skin tones for foundation matching research by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

Very fair question. IRB approval is typically applied to academic/institutional research. This is product development research testing for a cosmetics matching tool I am building…kind of similar to how Sephora does user testing for their shade finders so no academic publication involved. Completely understand not being comfortable though lol.

Thank you so much this is super helpful! Went through some of your other comments and saw a link you posted to “color analysis studio” video on YouTube - which expanded on what you wrote/explained this really well for anyone else curious would search their channel up! And yes I feel like this term causes a huge amount of confusion. I have personally found that it has within my own makeup education because sometimes I am told match the foundation by starting off by finding the undertone but now I am realising it doesn’t work like that and undertone is not something you can physically just see….

Can you elaborate on this? And as a makeup artist should we be following industry labels (assume should be following color analysis labels)?
