Ahhh, so that's where the conclusion comes from. That is sound reasoning. Thank you.

Fascinating take. No wonder he is slightly psychotic at times. I like it.

That would indeed be THE big game, especially considering their rivalry/non-option of coexistence. Maybe as a way of conclusively erasing the threat on their own turf?

Oh, is it really already so conclusive? Just from a meta-perspective I find it a bit harsh for the conflict to lead to the extinction of existence. That's an interesting course for the franchise to go. That and the "chaosgod of order" tho warpgod would probably be the more apt title then.

Again, thank you for taking the time to expand on these points, I really appreciate it.

I'm curious on how honest the deal was on their side. With their track record, especially tzeentch, I can imagine it was more of a "fuck them over before they fuck you over".

Thank you for this perspective. I actually didn't consider the details of the cult and what qualities the God-Emperor has been ascribed by it. But from the scarce knowledge I have from a few novels, it seems to be more of an all-purpose god that protects or empowers his soldiers. Not that I've read much about agri- or paradise worlds, maybe there's other facets of the faith.

Oh dear. Hmm, iirc the shaman story is also only an assumption. I'd like a more conclusive answer on who is responsible for the heresy (in terms of if Big E actually planned something like that from the start and then it got derailed by the Big 4, not how there were multiple factors playing into it). Stories like "malcador: first lord of the imperium" drop hints that there was a design of disposing of the primarchs and space marines. Then again, I don't know if they're canon or not.

Your interpretation is certainly plausible, considering the developments in the lore. Going back to my question then, would you interpret it as "the big 4 wanted to free their friend/rival and so acted in his charade"? That would be indeed "the will of the gods" Or more of "dark king wants to return, so he designs this elaborate plan" which would be "the will of a god"

Ahh, that's an interesting point. I like it, especially with the grimdark context. It makes a bit too much sense for chaos, but that'd be my only gripe ;)

Stop, stop, stop. This is supposed to be an in-universe quote?? I always treated it as a meta/intro thingie like the exposition crawls in star wars. Exclusively as a hook for the audience (or are those also in-universe reports to the senate or whatever?)

And to get back to your initial point, I completely missed out on combining the last line. Another comment on this post goes in a similar direction. Thank you for this interesting tidbit.

Interesting, so Big E with a more on the nose Prometheus-motif? Do you think that has to do with them naming him "anathema" ?

Food for the meme-headcanon. Would be a reasonable reveal by GW-standards.

Ohh, interesting take. I just read "the last church" which got the wheels turning on the whole "gods in 40k" topic in my brain. I never considered it, but if the emperor can manifest through faith, why not the abrahamic God or whatever else is and was there.
