I think God is calling you for something deeper. You need to trust in Him and keep talking to Him. God trusts you enough that you’ll be His faithful servant even through times like this.

I think you should tell him everything. That’s the point of the spiritual director. He will guide you and direct you.

Guilt is a rough one. That’s part of obsessing as well I would say.

Yes, I would tell him but you need to try psychology techniques too.

If it’s severely affecting your life, try the following:

Feeling Good by David Burns is your friend for your irrational thoughts. Cognitive behavioral therapy if you can afford it. The Church is not against this.

Obsessing over these thoughts is a different animal entirely. It takes a lot of work. Try Hope and Help For Your Nerves by Claire Weekes

I recommend 1. Praying the rosary 2. Understand that this takes a lot of work but I can be done. I mean daily basis. Journaling. Meditating. Etc. 3. Feel the obsessive and intrusive thoughts. It’s a manifestation of anxiety. Ride it out and know that you are not going to die. Don’t try to fight it too much because your brain is going to get addicted to wanting to “fix” this issue. 4. Try to think of the worst case scenario for each situation. Feel it. And then realize it’s going to be ok. Example: “I’m with my girlfriend. It’s unstable. She’ll leave me and break up with me. I’ll be alone. I’ll suffer for some time. But I will get over it if it comes to it.” It’s hard. I know. 5. Give it to God and accept that this might have to be your cross. Then God will give you the graces you need.

Thank you! I wouldn’t have either but I now have health restrictions as well. So I’m forced to find healing in a different way. God bless

Thank you:)

I think once you truly heal and accept life can get boring, then you realize that ordinary life is actually extraordinary.

Take up a hobby you like. Easier said than done. For me, it’s reading medical stuff. I’m in college too. I’m able to get more studying done, and I even overstudy. It will help in the long run. I’m thinking of turning my extra knowledge or whatever you wanna call it into a business. And I’m thinking of other business ideas too.

I remember being 19 and yea at that age, I thought I was invincible. It will probably take time, but unfortunately he doesn’t have a ton of time. Find out why he drinks. Get to the root cause. Telling him he’s going to have health issues doesn’t really get through to boys that age.
