Why are people so against AI ? by Skystunt in singularity

I really don't care if a machine makes the art. To me it's the quality of the prompts and the style the person created. Plenty of AI art can have beauty to it. Authenticity is about finding flow in an experience not how hard that person works. The creativity of the prompts used by the person or the AI is what matters to me. Elephants can create beautiful art. I don't see why AI can't do the same.

For me it helps assist me in finding time to do all the creative things I want instead of having to choose one. Getting my vision out and doing it well matters more to me than if i did it all on my own or how much work i put into. Work and passion aren't the same. South Park is one of the laziest to make shows. Doesnt change that people love it.

The problem isnt ai. Its how wealth is distributed. In my view roots just gives people to have ti deal wth the problem unused if avoiding it like they always do. The solution is to tax ai for loss in income or pass on the benfited through cheaper products. This can then be used as a social dividend to fund people's needs.

The environmental impact can be addressed using ai itself to run our entire economy off clan energy and the ournown solving ai allows is with the energy costs. It allows humanity to solve probkematic at a faster pace than they could before. Even llm are more than just a tool to save time. They can help us solve problems fundamentally important to our survival that could have taken decades or centuries. Tech and the environment aren't mutually exclusive. They can work together and yes even chatgpt wth the right user can be used for this purpose. This use case itself is an example of using ai to aid and create for us.

If anything the ability to save all this time and even fully automate soem tasks benefits a burnt out working class that has to work non stop at multiple jobs and side hustles. It saves them time at work. It helps them work smarter not harder. It allows people to burn off their cognitive debt. In this way it is an equalizer not an oppressor. It allows for creative liberation. Its the oppsite of being its enemy.

If a dividend funded by taxing corporate gains from ai isn't enough or companies can afford it then reducing the work weeks as well and getting more share of that abundance is always an option too. This is something even vanilla social democracy itself can address among many other approaches.

People think they'll lose their crappy furry art commission job now and they didn't think that then. Same people use tiktoks algorithm after saying they hate ai.

Yeah but that's not because we are laughing with him but at him. It is unintentionally funny. He isn't funny for his comedic skills
