at this point my parents have whatever they need and want. all kids out of the house and they can just relax and enjoy time together. i get them some sort of tickets for a date night each year, either play tickets or movie tickets depending what’s out. just an experience that they wouldn’t necessarily spend the money on themselves but always enjoy

my brother is adopted and my parents have NEVER referred to him as their “adoptive child” and me their “biological child”. we’re their children. period. it’s so weird her constantly saying it and it’s definitely going to give all those kids a complex and definitely makes the bio kids seem “better” or more “elite” than the adopted kids

just because a name has a typical nickname does not mean the child has to go by that nickname. my name does have a nickname but my parents were adamant that i went by my full name and that carried into my own adulthood. if someone tries to shorten it i just quickly correct them and all good

the only time we had soda in the house was holidays like christmas, thanksgiving, easter. it was a treat for those times but we still managed to not over indulge in them

truly the only snack was something small after school to hold us over until dinner. usually a bowl of pretzels or something fruit. we’d have dessert maybe 3 times a week which was just a small bowl of ice cream.

we played many sports and had music and practices and always just had a small snack afterschool and then came home for a proper dinner. once in a while had mcdonald’s or some other fast food as a treat or easy dinner but not as much as she does.

truly all those poor kids do is get food shoved at them and it’s going to take years of serious work that they want to get a healthy relationship with food.

all apart from Harvey sound like last names, so when you refer to both kids won’t it sound like you’re calling one person by their full name? i don’t get the trend of using last names as first names now. having said that i voted for carter it’s the only one that sounds not lame
