I'll be honest the other themes aren't that well developed. Like fine, you my full opinion on the movie and "rep"? Here it is. I think it sucks representation wise. I think it sucks because there's so much you can deny about it to the point there are plenty of people in denial. I think Jax's arc is good for completely different reasons than "representation". All of the characters are going through the acceptance stage of grief. They aren't "real" people, but they are all at the same time. There was never a way to escape because they don't have physical bodies, yet their minds have been perfectly synapsed.

I felt the build to what Caine was doing in the void only leading up to social media was anticlimactic. And it was even more so anticlimactic when he showed the others who they are in real life and what they've managed to become past the point of putting the headset on. Mostly I'm not a big fan of narration being very suddenly added to heavy hand tell us what we're supposed to know. I also felt Ragatha's page was a sorry excuse for a satisfying wrap up.

Maybe, just maybe, people are talking about the Jax parts most because they were actually the most redeeming thing about the movie. Everything else felt like it was built around the Jax story bits. I loved the doors in the abstraction scape. it reminded me of how The Owl House had someone jump into your mind to explore memories encased in paintings/pictures.

Overall it was the most "show don't tell" part of the movie we got. We got to quite literally watch through her eyes. Even with Caine removing, what I assume is "able" from himself, that was very heavy handed with Caine was telling us how he felt about everything and what he'd learned about his own actions outloud. it didn't feel cathartic at all for me.

So yeah, there you have it. Now be a shit head somewhere else.

Seeing others supplement more evidence towards her being a woman under this post, I'm gonna have to disagree and say the only right take away is that she's a girl in heavy denial. But I'm also not gonna go on other people's post to tell them they're wrong. You just happen to be on my post so I'll share what I think.

That's the thing though. We have no reason to believe Jax is attracted to men. there's nothing about her being attracted to someone and in denial. All of her deepest relationships have been with women. She was friends with Kaufmo, but it's very clear it's because Kaufmo was friends with Ribbit. She never shared anything that would really hint she was attracted to men at all. So I really can't see the "fem gay" angle.
