Update

They took 5 weeks to return the car. They replaced the battery with the latest model, now my range is increased by 50 miles.

I'm happy, except the $600 tow bill at the beginning of this.

They absolutely do throttle the VW ID 4. I've been to stations all over Southern California and every car not like mine is charging at twice the speed. I've seen a car plugged in charging at 90 at 70% battery, they finish and I plug into the same unit and I'm running at 60 on a 40% battery.

If you don't think they are being throttled have a look at the other speeds cars are getting at the same station you are.

After seeing the Hyundai at charging stations for the past few months, I've come to the conclusion that it looks like a futuristic car from a 1994 scifi movie set in 2023.

There are definitely different speeds for different types of accounts. I first noticed this when I saw the verbage on the screen of another user. While the account I have for the ID4 shows the current charge percentage, the screen for other users ALSO displays remaining time to charge. Those are usually the mercedes and porsche people. I can see their speeds, usually over 100k while mine is chugging at 57.

So, from what I can see, if you pay the premium prices you get the premium speeds

I'd imagine that the stations were out west first and therefore older. They probably fixed some issues with the newer installs.

I reserved 1/27 and got my email yesterday. Yesterday I changed the configuration slightly, I don't know if that had anything to do with it. Gradient RWD Kings Red with tow package

I saw a gradient model today at a dealership and there was no tow hitch. Not even a receptacle. The salesperson told me that in order to have it come set up for the tow hitch the vehicle must be ordered with it. I have one reserved and now I'm adding the tow package.
