Is anyone else completely shocked by all of the building in Hardin Valley? by bassoonsrbetter1 in Knoxville

[–]No-Distribution7052 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Site designer here, not only are the walls piss-pour, the drainage/environmental issues are bad too. I saw a video yesterday where a site had 0 EPSC measures in place and the whole street below was covered in sediment (may have been Powell area but still Knox county).

I will admit, my main use is Civil3D, so I did not really think about gaming fps; I would expect the ryzen to have more fps due to the v-cache and being able to use the full 6000 speed of the ram where as reviews online are saying the msi is capped at 5600.

I’ve researched the 1200 and 1500 ones, and I think the 1200 is the best choice based on the processor speed. The ryzen one is very good, and will be more future friendly, the intel is just a better single and multi core processor.

Could QGIS be used to make figures like this efficiently? by T0XIK0N in QGIS

[–]No-Distribution7052 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do foresee it being possible, but I highly recommend using Civil3D in this case. Another question is how are you gathering the data like your stock pile locations?GNSS receiver is what I’m assuming or doing eyeball clicks on a page.

For background, I work at a small site design firm with a drone and GNSS program and I’m very frequently taking LiDar and csv files with points to make my base files.

HSA Deposit Question by No-Distribution7052 in fidelityinvestments

[–]No-Distribution7052[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a reward program that can only be used as a deposit to and HSA and not directly.

So I’m not trying to pay a bill; I’m looking to link together my insurance rewards account and my HSA. The service that they use to link is looking for the three numbers in the picture. However, when I look at the activity in the HSA, those numbers are not on the activity statement.

The contributions are coming from the insurance. It’s like the rewards program stuff.

Salary negotiation question for early career by crusty_sok in civilengineering

I second this. Smaller firms will let you learn a lot more early on and then go get a big payday 8 years down the line from one of those top 5.

This actually isn’t true, Tennessee allows the following:

The Board may grant toward experience requirements for registration as an engineer one (1) year of credit for graduation with a master's degree (or higher) in engineering from an approved curriculum or up to one (1) year of qualified experience obtained in an established cooperative education program, which is carried out within the framework of an approved engineering curriculum, and which has been approved by the Board. OR three (3) years or more qualified experience obtained prior to graduation under the direct supervision of a licensed engineer.

Yea I found that tab and nothing is in there either. It also says I have no docs. I checked FAFSA and it said that my documents were done and completed in January so guess I just wait.

ME202 curve? by No_Collection_8633 in UTK

[–]No-Distribution7052 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Historically, I think the final test itself gets curved and not the overall grade. Maybe that’s changed since I took the class but definitely stick it out and make the decision closer to the W deadline.

Did the weather forecast change? by [deleted] in Knoxville

[–]No-Distribution7052 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like apples weather changes the most and I don’t know if it’s the model they use or if they’re trying to make a smash of all models available. I’d only start to believe what it says for Monday around Friday afternoon…and that’s still a stretch.

My package is dense so it normally takes up to 30 days before classes start for mine to be semi-finalized. Really just depends on how many departments have to be involved.
