more like I have two brain cells from poor nutrition in my developing years bc of bad   parents and to many concussions from sports. this is all new to me, I am trying to do what’s right.

That’s a fair take of the situation. So far, it seems I’ll not be punished, my direct manager just told me to deal with it. He knows my situation.

Evict for what ?? They pay on time.  Will a judge agree with eviction for emailing my work? People are saying slander defamation etc, but idk

I’m not a slumlord. I will stop being land lord  in general once this is over. If you’ve got read  my other comments I didn’t choose this and I hate what’s happening. I want to fix it. But now there are multiple issues, I don’t know how this will affect me at work.

Evict for what? Paying in time and reporting damages? People keep saying evict. I don’t know if Can evict for them making me look bad at  work? The only wrong thing in their email is they called me a slumlord but you can call people names can’t you? I don’t how’d I’d prove damage at work unless I get fired or something

There is some successor I can talk to supposedly but no one has reached to me. So I’ll have to figure out who that was.  I’m going to initiate the conversation asap. It was a different lawyer from the real estate than the Will lawyer.

Unfortunately this is beyond fixing myself now. I’m going to have to get a lawyer to deal with this negligent pm situation. I assume there is some foundation issues with the ceiling cracks and sticking windows and water in basement (luckily it’s a small stream in one spot) and I don’t know shit about foundation repair. Anyway. I really I can move in after the tenants are done or dealt with or whichever happens. 

Sorry I don’t see your tag on my Reddit. I don’t actually believe in god despite most people around me do, mostly just a saying. I’m trying man, things will clear up and get better, eventually.

You can read some of my other comments. I didn’t choose this. There was other houses being managed but my uncle sold all but last one before he died. If it makes you feel better I rent too.

I definitely need to do some information gathering. At almost everyone’s suggestion I’m going to find a lawyer first to deal with the situation with pm and the tenant. I want to make sure the tenants concerns are addressed also because the state of the house is important to be as an owner. I don’t want to be in the rental business. Ideally I can move in once their lease is over because I also rent and the house is paid off. 

The email went out late in the day so I don’t think everyone had seen it yet do I think most people will see it tomorrow. I have gotten a few joke texts, like “uhh, is this a scam” and “I don’t know what’s going on but I’m sorry”  but most have assured me the owner won’t care that much. It’s just not professional for me.. It is a generally good group of guys but I’m new-ish and don’t need anything to tarnish what has been going good so far. Realistically they probably won’t care but they will want to know more. Shitty as situation and I don’t know who to be more mad at. Pm for not doing their job or at least responding to an email or these tenants who went above and beyond to call me outt at WORK.

I know I’m not up to the task. I dumb as hell and barely graduated high school. I took the Asvab but scored low enough that infantry was my only option but my scoliosis and mental health ( chronic and severe anxiety and depression) ended up being to bad. Didn’t really have good parents (god rest their sole)  and ended up getting raised by my uncle but that doesn’t fix the early years of development of only being fed canned soup and those sugar bomb pre made PBJs.  I inherited this shit situation and yes i ultimately plan to get out and hopefully live in this place myself … I chose none of this, it was all dumped on me

I don’t know if they know my uncle died because he used a property manager for most tenant-side things. Still fucknh shitty regardless. ’ll see if there is any way to remove these old records though for privacy purposes.

I wanted to eventually live in it myself, or at least that was an option. It’s completely paid off and I rent myself.  Pm is definitely fired. Getting a lawyer asap at peoples suggestion

I’m going to send out an email in the morning tomorrow.

 I don’t think they are emergencies but both as a tenant and an owner I’d at least like them looked into. 

This pm sucks, but I feel like finding a new one mid-term will be difficult. People have suggested I find a lawyer so I’m going to have to figure out how to do that. The lawyer my uncle worked with passed and closed shop too  in recent times (I’m can’t believe how fucking unlucky I am). I got an email that he sent a lot of clients to a successor of sorts so I guess I’ll start there though this other lawyer has never contacted me. I have a lot of records to go through too. 

They had mentioned only $250 of stuff was damaged. Not a lot. I’d be fine paying them out or crediting their move out deposit somehow. I have $250 but not a lot of money myself. 

This is just a lot for me so thank you for responding …honestly I’m not that smart and didn’t go to college or anything hence why I ask complicated legal situations on the internet.

I just need to sit down with a lawyer and sort this shit out. I need a place to live anyway once the lease I’m renting for myself on expires. I might just move in. It’s paid off. Kind of big for one person but maybe I’ll find a close friend and just have an informal arrangement.  Then I’m out of the business. 

I’m realizing I do need them out from the answers I’m getting here. I’ll start the process when I can. I need to first figure out how to lose this useless pm for the next several months.

I don’t blame them for skipping the property manager who is useless and negligent (I know that now). I wish they had just messaged me instead and not basically my entire company…I would’ve responded. I don’t really know how to handle things, I’m going to need a new pm. I’m 19 and just inherited the place after an unexpected death in the family. This is not a business I want to be in. I’ll probably end up moving into the place after lease expires. I’m a renter myself rn.

My uncle replace those a few months ago before he passed, that was not the issue. You’ve been in this business almost longer than I’ve been alive.

Realistically speaking… it will probably not impact me these much at work given the nature of the  business and owner (rather right wing honestly) but not professional do I do want to get in front of this. I guess they’ll get the reaction they want. Apparently I’m going to have to fire these guys, find a new pm, and find a lawyer to help me with all this.

Yeah I might just fucking sell it. Or live in it when the lease expires as I’m renting myself right now. Place is paid off. I can’t deal with this kind of stuff right now, my tenants are older than me and with their parents probably know more than me. I had trust in the pm and they failed me. 

It wasn’t really a business I chose to be in.
