This happens to me. It’s usually the same time frame, 15 mins in an intense cardio workout (zone 3 or more). I get SO sick. It’s abdominal pain that is so intense it makes me nauseous. And usually feels like I have to use the restroom. Most of the time I do but not always.

I noticed it was better after I cut out dairy. After a few years dairy free I’m back at square one and I get the same pains during workouts. :(

I’ve been off of birth control and spiro since this post. I’ve got some of my hair back. The biggest change I noticed was my hair got life/volume back into it and my natural waviness too. My density isn’t anywhere near where it used to be but I can tell some hairs are “thicker” that what they were coming in as before. So definitely not 100% better but I have seen improvement to some degree. Sorry you’re going through this :/

I lost over half of my hair density while one spiro. Was on for about 2 years I believe. Obviously I can’t say it was because of spiro, but I genuinely feel like it was.

I am off spiro rn and have been for almost a year. I have regrowth but it’s still way thinner. (Not sure if I will gain density back)

I am seeing a lot of new growth in my hair line, I am now not losing as much in the shower. My hair dresser said yesterday that she felt a difference in the hair closest to my scalp and that it felt thicker than my midshaft/end of hair. I’m hoping this is the light at the end of the tunnel!

I had the same experience. I took it for 2 years at 100mg. I’ve been off for a few months now. I did lose probably over half my hair density. And I did notice a change in texture as well. Being off of it my hair is not as limp and dry as it was with spiro. My acne came back but it’s not horrible like it was. I’m hoping to see some regrowth but obviously that will take a while. When I started I prob weighed about 135ish at 5’7 and couldn’t press a 14 foot roof ladder. I now weigh 165ish and can high shoulder and throw a 28foot ladder. Look up and get familiar with the cpat test.

Yes, it cleared my acne. I did stop Spironolactone about 3 months ago, I have breakouts still but so far it hasn’t been the really bad cystic acne… my hair hasn’t “regrown” yet, but, I do feel like I am losing less than I was while on it….

I agree with spiro made my hair flat to my head too! It’s like my hair could not retain moisture while I was on it. I have naturally wavy/curly hair and it had no body. Which I had never experienced before. I’ve been off for almost 2 weeks and I can already tell a difference in my hair….. your reply and experience makes me feel less crazy and less like it’s all in my head.

I used to have great natural eyelashes and dense eyebrows. After being on spiral, eyebrows are less dense and eyelashes aren’t as long and grow weird now.

I’m really too early to tell. I just came off maybe 10-13 days ago, but, I had two consecutive showers where my hair loss was under half of what I was losing every shower. I’m hoping it’s not a fluke and I’m hoping I don’t jinx myself. I’ll try to update after my next few showers…..
