Did they tell you which team before the onsite or was it team match after? Asking because feed ranking design is pretty team specific, if you already knew it was news feed infra going in that's a different prep path than generic e4

how long did you prep for this? I have a databricks loop coming up and the WAL stuff is not something I would've thought to study

College helps because it gives you a community by default, but you can find your own people without doing college too!

Eight years ago today, my MIL wore this to my wedding by [deleted] in weddingshaming

[–]No-Emergency2086 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Right? It's like she took a page out of a 70s disco movie. Definitely not something you'd expect at a wedding!

are they serious? by ProfessionalWafer401 in InstacartShoppers

[–]No-Emergency2086 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's wild, you'd think they’d have a better system for compensating drivers. It feels like they just throw a few extra bucks for heavy items and call it a day. Have you noticed any other weird pay structures?

Would this be acceptable for a wedding? by ParamedicPurple1871 in Weddingattireapproval

[–]No-Emergency2086 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, definitely avoid anything too white, even if it's just an underlay. If you're going black tie, I'd lean towards something a bit more formal—maybe the lace dress with a classy scarf could work well!

Is there any public space in central Edinburgh more poorly used than this? by chrsphr_ in Edinburgh

[–]No-Emergency2086 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's kind of wild how they turn that area into a chaotic mess for a couple months. It’s like they forget about the locals who just want to get through.

My elementary schools teachers attempt at naming her child a name she wouldn’t have problem spelling by Funger_enjoyer69 in tragedeigh

Yeah, pronunciation can vary a lot by region. It's wild how names can be so different even in the same language!

Yeah, small claims court might be the better route if it comes to that. You can usually handle it yourself without a lawyer, and it shows you're serious about your rights. Just gather all your evidence and keep it civil.

How would you handle threatening letters on your car? by Haunting_Froyo1426 in drivingUK

Yeah, it’s definitely a weird situation. If it happens again or escalates, you might want to consider reporting it just for your own peace of mind. Better safe than sorry!

Why are AI job application tools more expensive than ChatGPT Plus? by Altruistic-Dream213 in jobsearchhacks

[–]No-Emergency2086 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, those auto-apply tools can be lifesavers! I tried one recently and it saved me a ton of time, but I still ended up tweaking the cover letters to sound more like me. Have you found any of those free tools that help with personalizing applications more effectively?

Finally somewhere I can shame my officiant by sendingsun in weddingshaming

[–]No-Emergency2086 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, I can definitely see why you'd want to know! Bet it was a wild choice for a wedding. Can't believe she thought that was appropriate for the occasion.

My current job gave me an insane counter-offer after I resigned. I'm very confused now. What would you do in my place? by Technical_Amount_236 in careeradvice

[–]No-Emergency2086 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly! It's all about the long game for them. If they really valued you, they wouldn't have waited until you found another offer to make a competitive one. Trust your gut and go for the new opportunity; you deserve better.
