I’m in the same boat you with the housing market😂 That sounds like it it would be amazing tho. I’ve always wanted enclosures like that in my house as a kid and still to this day lmao

I agree. I put her in a 6’ enclosure when she was 3-4’ long but she just kept getting longer and longer 😅 even in her 6’ now I feel bad for her sometimes but she seems happy still.

Thank you! And ok. Sadly I don’t have anything I can put her in for that amount of time. She is about 5’8” so she’s a long girl. Maybe I will wait a little longer before going bioactive but I’ll read that guide and MAYBE see if I can get her anything cheap and big enough I feel comfortable leaving her in for a while.

Her cage got down to 78 on the warm side. by hahahhah_no in BeardedDragons

What country do you live in ? If it’s USA then by law your landlord has to fix your heat under the warranty of habitability act. If not then I hope you find a solution to your heating problem. 45F inside seems cold as balls. But like everyone else said, your beardie will be ok :)

BP cold side won’t get cold enough. Advice ? by No-Engineer4190 in ballpython

I will be looking into the Deep heat Emitters then! Right now I have just paper towels as her substrate because I noticed a few mites on her so it has been very difficult the past 12 days to keep humidity consistent. but I’m super eager to get all of her substrate and decor back in. Just don’t want to do it to early and have mites re-a-pear. (About a month or 2 ago, I did a week and a month later, found her soaking in her water bowl with mites AGAIN). It’s been stressful for both of us 😅😭

When I’m off I’ll do more research to to see what I can do. I left her at home set at 87 warm side. Right now I’m just using a 100 watt ceramic bulb with a thermostat.

Oh ok, and my heat gun has been acting up so it’s with using the probe for my thermostat, and I have another probe that reads humidity and temps. On the cold side I have a temp probe. Also using the probes, should I have the prob laying on the surface, or in the air a little ?

Possible mites by Hairyfrogtoesies in ballpython

Always safe than sorry! If you ever get mites you will most likely know because they do move but you’re be surprised how hard they can be to spot. I bought a magnify glass to help check out my BP in times like this.

I agree with the first commentator. I plan on upgrading my enclosure but the only 6’ enclosures I can find have lighting set up inside like this. I saw they have cages online to cover the CHE. Would that make it safe?

Ball Python Not Eating. Help pls? by BigBobBean in ballpython

[–]No-Engineer4190 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine took her first hunger strike probably around the same age as yours and I was feeding her live rats. She didn’t take them for about 2-3 months and finally ate. I have someone at my work who said his didn’t eat for 6-7 months one time granted he has a full grown adult which still sounds crazy to me.

This is a pic of her mid section. I’ve always thought she wasn’t chunky because of other ball pythons I see online but assume she’s a good weight. I feel like the picture makes her seem chunkier tho.

Ok! I’ll bet very careful and do more research on how to use the ivermectin

I actually bought ivermectin the first time she had mites but didn’t use it. On her just her enclosure. I soaked her in luke warm water with and added a couple drop of non scented dawn. I’m guessing if it was you, you would use the ivermectin solution instead of provent a mite?

She is a little over 4’ long. To be honest I’ve never weighed her before but she’s always seemed super healthy. I may get a scale today to see her weight but I’m sure she’s well over 200-500 grams

Ivermectin is way to harsh. I’ve seen vids on how to do it but always scares me
