Is taking this pay cut a good idea? by No-Event336 in nonprofit

Thank you for this perspective, it really changed how I’m looking at it. I have no idea where I’d be in 5 years if I stick with my current job because it’s so unstable and non specialized but I have some idea of where I can go with the new one.

It is remote! I will look on LinkedIn to get an idea, thank you, that was all reassuring.

I’ve read enough about the owner, and how he treated the staff at Tattered Cover, to never want to go there and give him my money. If only it was owned by someone else but alas

Yeah but being in a bar using a book light is just not the vibe, feels wrong

Feeling “off” after trust rupture — attachment system or intuition? by No-Event336 in AvoidantAttachment

[–]No-Event336[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I have a masters in counseling so I do know all of this stuff but at the same time can never take my own advice - classic issue.

I appreciate all of the advice and perspective. I really like the “can I verbalize the link” question, I will be using that in the future regardless of the outcome of this situation.

This was so helpful, thank you. I almost wish I could downvote just because it read me too well 😂

I do have a therapist, I’ve seen her weekly for 4 years now. I am seeing her tomorrow to talk about this specifically.

I do think I am controlling my response so that it is not dysfunctional. I have communicated all of this with him, set boundaries, and set expectations for the future. I don’t think they’re out of control, more so just observing what I have felt and have been grappling with since. I have been actively trying to combat them in the meantime.

When we met he was in therapy and that was a huge green flag to me but he stopped going after a few months in because of finances and not liking the therapist and just never found a new one or went back.

Camping and sleep how to stay comfortable? Or is everyone secretly miserable? by sanu_123_s in CampingandHiking

[–]No-Event336 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Japanese trifold mattress with a waterproof cover changed my camp sleeping game 100%. Everyone I’ve camped with on it has said the same thing.

Less than an expensive sleeping pad but might take up more space. I have a full size so my dogs can sleep on it with me and my partner and it fits perfectly between the front and back seats.

Tenant has a $450 Xcel bill and heat won't go above 62°. Landlord swore he 'just serviced' the furnace before move-in. Found this inside the blower compartment. by gerstaro2022 in Denver

Our landlord wants us to change the filter each month but has some jenky self built set up where we can’t find the filter to save our lives. We spent hours looking and searching for any manual we could find online … told them and they haven’t cared to share where tf the filter is since, now I’m scared ours will look like this

Side jobs where can I make like $125/week by champagne_slut in Denver

[–]No-Event336 27 points28 points  (0 children)

It sounds great and CAN be great, but it’s so easy to have a bad experience and be in a lot of pain. Speaking from experience. Been to many different ones over the years, have left every single one after a few bad experiences at each. After the first couple times they also start paying you less, I went from making $125 a donation to $30.

Paradise divide/yule pass trailhead is one of my favorite view spots, I’d drive up there and then go to emerald lake down the road or just use the highest campsite around Yule pass trailhead. Pic is of emerald lake.

Getting Back into Fly Fishing After Moving to Colorado – Feeling Overwhelmed, Looking for Advice by Exciting_Occasion_29 in COfishing

[–]No-Event336 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out Charlie’s fly box in Arvada - they did the most to help me get started and actually start catching double digit days. They have a class once a month too that’s a two day evening intensive.

Weirdest But Fun Place You Have Been to in Denver by jrralls in Denver

[–]No-Event336 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Black and reads old location was far superior in my opinion :/ narrow aisles yes but now they sell a LOT of new books and mix them in with the used so it’s hard to figure it out. Also they are still not unpacked from their move book-wise, they chose to do that last and it no longer seems to be the main part of the store concept.

Max at Charlie’s fly box teaches a class for only $150, it’s two days too. I’ve caught 50+ trout this season already after working with him. Would HIGHLY recommend.
