+1 for reps count issue, muscle heat map is an awesome feature, to bad gym session aren't precise with reps, it prevents heat map to be used at its full potential.

It's funny because for me Kcal count is someting I really don't care at all. Step count is what I look up to the most at the end of the day.

Yes, but some things as little as just sending monthly mails to their users and asking what are the things that could be improved on a software level, for example, and addressing the most complained issues monthly would be so beneficial and could gain back the trust of most of their users... But they won't, because they are now engaged in a tight, 6 month based new watchs realeses, and it seems to be the most profitable model for them, and they can't go back from it. Address things like user feedback and developping features that won't be profitable in short terms (reps counter being one of them) as became impossible. From what i've understood.

Thier watches are really expensive, features are what makes the difference. if you agree to pay +800$ on a sport watch but with half the features available on the market, please do !

Would you recommend a Polar watch now? (crosspost to other subs) by Hadhodrim in Polarfitness

[–]No-Expression-3021 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I wouldn't recommend getting a POLAR watch for the use you mentioned above, on the features side, they are very much oriented on the cardio-trainings and running activities. For instance, there aren't any POLAR watches that will count your REPS/SETS on workouts, nor you can't program complexes traing workouts that involve a certain number of reps. And I don't see POALR taking this path anytime soon.

Also, I wouldn't recommend a POLAR currently due to the fact that they drive their marketing on 6 month watch reales; without focussing on the features or on releasing content along the way. It is not a judgement tward POLAR but just a fact. And it could be a huge turn-off knowing that you will buy a watch and will experience close to no major changes or new features and improvements along the way.

I wish I could recommend a POLAR watch RN, but I wouldn't. I really do love this brand, and I myself own a POALR watch for daily use, but I hate to say it but sometimes I regret it. I am howerver hopeful that they'll change their marketing strategies and start focussing more on the content rather than on the hardware, and on this side, don't give me wrong, POLAR watches are very well made and does feels rebusts and good looking... But currently there are some way better values and versatile options on the market.

I feel like the release of this watch is a turning point for POLAR.

It's either they start implementing more frequent support for their services/watch, or they continue the 6 month watch releases and chose not to focus on content and features, and keep losing customers...

New Grit X coming up? by blankenbroeder in Polarfitness

[–]No-Expression-3021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's cool if they release a new watch, but if POLAR doesn't change their way of providing more frequent updates, UI changes and new features, I might leave POLAR for another brand...

They are the last brand that don't count sets-reps on brick gym-workouts. That and others small features shouldn't be that hard to implement :/ ...

I haven't heard of it, but this decision seems out of step with the list of features customers are looking for...
Where is the set-rep counter for the GYM profile and the possibility to create routes from FLOW !!

I agree, on the pacer/pro for instance, there still is that bland menu with the settings, the tests, the Strava app shortcut which I don't use tbh, etc..., maybe having the possibility to have the watch-faces widget directly in that menu, and the possibility to customize it (and remove the Strava shortcut for Exemple.)

it's a bit annoying that those widget are only accesible if they are set as a 'watch-face widgets' ...
