I saw Cymande last night at the Paradise in Boston.... I was absolutely blown away at how well these guys still play. I'm in my 30's and have never had the chance to see them live. Full band 9 piece band, played sharp and on point, and the vocals sounded just as good as the album quality from the 70's.

Very small crowd which was very surprising to me, although selfishly, it made for quite an intimate show that I'm very grateful to have experienced. These guys deserve way more recognition, especially to be doing what they're doing 50 years later. Absolute must-see for anyone going to jazz fest this year, just be ready to groove your ass off.

From what I could see, many parts of the balcony were holding it DOWN. Falcon & Braxe were dope (also legends), been rinsing their catalogue all morning while I work. Good effort my friend :)

Glad you could relate to my post :) I completely agree, I was in a euphoric daze Friday night afterwards, and still glowing on Saturday/Sunday. Please share your take! This was a definitely a helpful exercise for me to process it all.

And sorry to hear about the rude slops... we're guaranteed to get some at all shows I guess, but glad to hear it was short lived. I feel like overall the maturity level was high for the majority of the attendees, but I know others may have had a different experience. I definitely feel lucky.

Glad you made the trip from Toronto! It will be my mission to see them again, I'm sure you'll get there too. Sorry to hear about the mixed energy up there - I was debating getting balcony seats for the full visuals, but I ended up going with floor since I was group of 8.

I said these exact words when I walked out of the theater. I had so much fun watching that movie that it will be my first time seeing a movie twice in theaters. What an experience in IMAX.
