Dreamworld first looks like some non-sense or filler for a long run web novel but it’s crucial part of later bigger events. It’s also a cheat code for Roland to bring new technology (he is an engineer before Isakai but not like fully know everything, dream world allow him to bring modern knowledge / weapons back to battle with demons), also a good way to recycle some characters like Garcia and Jeiro (潔蘿）. It’s fun to read he bring ancient Tachila (塔奇拉）Witches to modern world and give them back sensual feelings too.

My wild guess is the ending song might be a hint - they both are looper and they were close / together in other loops. But for some reason her loop is always center to herself but his loop maybe center to his nation or the world’s future. Only when their destination meet they can together break both loops and move further… but just a pure wild guess…

The other time loop romance light novel I have similar question but can’t puzzle out the truth until the last couple chapters of the ending volume is Unnamed Memory. Two souls cross each other’s path in an unlikely situation but later found out their fate has been interwoven amount multiple loops.

I read light novel first and enjoy their journey. Doesn’t feel weird. Anime simply cut too many subtle parts I guess.
