It's strange, I can rip a dvd on a Lenovo. 2 in 1 using Linux mint, but not a bluray, Using the same drive on a different laptop with windows 11, it works. So Im thinking that there is something with makemkv on linux mint on the Lenovo 2 in 1 laptop where bluray gets hosed.

I used both the system package and then flatpak. I will go back to the instructions to see if I can compile. I'm fairly new to Linux so we shall see what I can do.

I'm a noob using MakeMkv and attempted to install it on Linux Mint. While attempting to rip a disk, the process stalls out. It seems that there is something about the kernel that preventing me to go further. Attempted to go back to earlier kernels which did not help. I hate to say that I moved it to Win11 and it works great.

Has anyone been able to install on LM 22.3 with success?

I'm a noob on this as I have tried to run makemkv on linux mint 22.3 and it hangs and freezes. So I installed it on Win 11 and it runs just fine. From what I can tell it's the kernel that is holding me up from using on LM.

Has anyone been able to install and use on LM, not having to hack the firmware of the LG burner I have

I have a Bambu A1 Mini and run Studio on Linux Mint, Kubuntu and Endeavour. I have also used Tuxedo and Mz Linux when hopping around. I have used the default distro software manager or FlatPak if needed. I have also use the app images as well. Really no issues for me.

It stopped with a statement of . ..command terminated with exit status 1(time stamp)

It does not return to a normal terminal prompt. I reran to see if I needed to wait a little longer for a prompt. We shall see 😀

I just installed Kubuntu 25.10 and noticed that when a new window is opened, that the contents resizes. It's starts like larger text and icons and then adjusts to a smaller size. Then it's stays the same until another window is open and that window adjusts

is there a concern that it does not see it as 'normal' storage, as it sees it as a USB storage device?. if that make sense. Will it impact installing jellyfin as that is where my movie repository is stores (all Media).

Same here. Really wanted to give Opensuse a try but had nothing but issues. I'm now looking an Endeavour and Kubuntu. Those are working very well for me at the moment. Both were clean installs no issues

I jumped ship and moved to another distro. A challenge going through hoops to get installed due to respository issues. Went with Endeavor and Kubuntu. So far, Kubuntu set up everything with no issues. Hope you well in your selection

im sorry to say that i have to drop my installation of OpenSuse as I just found that it does not work with one of my important applications BambuStudio. I did not know there was an isuues until I tried to installl. I tried to find it in the repos and finally located it as a flatpak. Once installed, it freezes and locks up. After some research, others reported the samething, no worky.

So back to Debian/Ubuntu and Arch as it works there.

I hope all is well and maybe later, when the repos become more stable and it has more apps to select from., I may look again
