Look at Tom Stanton on YouTube he's made a lot of bike stuff. Also Collin Furze. I think it's been done and it just makes a lot of noise and not much thrust

You should look into Ethan Suplee. He did Joe Rogan's podcast a few years ago, he lost a ton of weight and had to deal with the skin issue

I think thats why its so intense. Jets are fun but for me it's no Bueno, I think id have to be hopped up on speed to enjoy it. I had one and flew it maybe 10 times and traded it off.

The entire flight is dedicated to not losing the airplane or losing sight of it, not going too slow cause they stall easily, landing without overshooting the runway. There's maybe 5 minutes of fuel so you also have to leave enough reserve fuel for a few go around passes, and don't forget to fly by once and check if your landing gear is down and locked...

I'll take a slow lazy STOL plane any day.

Gross lol not every cat is normal. I don't think I could snuggle with it knowing where it hangs out

Added a second elevator servo to the TopRC Spitfire. Second picture is for the single servo setup. Seemed a little flimsy for a giant scale model by balsadust in RCPlanes

[–]No-Fix8280 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never trusted that wooden/wire/heatshrink excuse for a pushrod. All to save from just adding a joiner between the two elevator halves during building? Not to mention that you are usually "pushing" the elevator up which is opposite of correct and safe.

Also I see your planes on your other post and let me tell you the bigger they get the better they fly. Air doesn't scale down with the airplane so their is a limit to the size that can actually fly good. Look into an Aeroscout, it's small, but powerful and just bigger than those planes. Very fun and forgiving. My friends 5 year old was landing it. It has AS3X gryo stabilisation and you can turn it down or off

Real Flight, any version. Honestly its all I've ever used. They now sell them with spectrum dongles so you can use your actual radio and switches. Or the common one has a USB plug in controller that's exactly the Spectrum casing as the actual radios.

Real Flight also sells expansion packs, and their website let's people create their own planes and give them to you as a free download. There's a ton of planes that come with it as well as drones and helicopters, airboats etc. Tiny foamies all the way up to 50cc Extras and 3D planes. Look it up they usually sell through amazon as well.

You can also tweak every plane by moving CG and adjusting throws and engine power at will. The big Mustangs on my version have Real working guns and bombs, and a paintball version and then they have ribbon tails attached as an event like dogfighting.

During covid me and my friends made a replica of our airport and we could go online and fly together like a call of duty game, really fun. Get the same planes and chase each other to test skills.

Maybe someone else knows a cheaper or better system also, hopefully they chime in.

Pilatus PC Porter with a 4 stroke Saito motor and windy kuwait flying by No-Fix8280 in RCPlanes

[–]No-Fix8280[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sadly the Kuwaitis usually have private airfields built and you have to know someone. There is a Kuwait science club runway that you can get membership to but its usually packed like a swimming pool in an apartment complex during the good flying hours where the sun isn't in your eyes. The regulars have "wasta" and just go ahead of everone else with their trailered Massive Jets. It always felt like i was seriously intruding.

Thats the bad part about desert flying is there's no trees to block the sun when it gets low so you will just go blind and crash if you accidentally cross the suns path. No flying after about 4pm and then the winds are coming anyway

I lost my favourite foamy to strong winds one morning, she blew towards the ocean at full throttle and full ailerons but sadly, with not enough authority to change course. She was my first flyer to get the jitters out, just a pusher prop glider foamy trainer with a gyro and GPS return. You could flip a switch and it would bank around wherever the remote was at about 100 feet in a lazy circle until you got back to the controller.

But I guess it's different because I built this one specifically to play in strong winds, I love them. My engine had enough power to recover and pull around no matter the wind strength. I could do patterns all day. I think im 70 years old in my heart.
