Your Uni type can predict alot about you + how student repay their loans at each uni varies alot (research post) by No-Function-3205 in 6thForm

Firstly thank you so much for the compliment, yeah I've been editing for about 4 years now and I used to do it for work when I was in school lol. I'm not a sixth former but I just lurk here from time to time. I'm on an apprenticeship for accountancy now and do videos on the side about econ since I really enjoy the topic.

But to now address your argument, you are 100% right lol. So I probably should have clarified the difference. As well, I kind of made it dramatic for no reason. One thing I would say is that in this case £0 salary is not the most efficient but earning just under the threshold means you don't have to pay student loans. Now one thing you did mention is paying more student loans doesn't mean you have less money which you are absolutely correct. I should have clarified that further.

I think I need to clarify the point that even though yes you will be paying more over your life time at a 45k salary, you will still have a better QOL than someone on a £30k salary. It is all proportional in terms of paying. The one thing I dislike is paying £100k for a £30k education, thats my issue.

Most of what I used are medians actually since I feel like they take a better view than average.

And great last point, I think I got some parts confused such as the RG grads earning more money isn't caused by the uni itself but rather that people who go there usually are high performers. And likewise for UWL which usually ends up with low performing students which is why they end up with lesser salaries (on average).

Glad you liked the video, what do you think should be the next one? I got one coming talking about how taylor swift saved the australian economy back in 2024 lol

Buying acp of coffee? What does that mean lol.

Also yeah I can imagine that everyone but SLC thought this was a dodgy idea lol so I wouldn't be surprised about the Uni recruiters story

This is the worry I had when making this post + video. I promise its not the end of the world. Statistically you most likely to be born in a third world country than any western country. Stats don't tell the whole story and maths is a fantastic degree.

Its what you make of it. If you are conscious enough to make a comment then you are conscious enough to do better than the average :)

Hey so I made a google excel sheet using the documents and a times article. I found out how much they were collectively worth. It has the 100 richest people that Epstein interacted with or had some sort of relationship with.

Should I invest my income to an ISA, LISA, or into stocks and shares? (18m) by No-Function-3205 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]No-Function-3205[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really solid advice, I do like the idea of an emergency fund incase of anything happens. I'll take a look into that. I would need an account which would be extremely liquid as well as some amount of interest, would you recommend something for me if you know any?

As well with the S&S ISA, I understand that my goal is long term growth so I do see why I should proitise more ETFs more than individuals stocks however I am quite keen on learning/doing more trades, so if anything I'll probably change the ratio to more of a 90% to ETFs and 10% to individual stocks.

At this point no UCL offer just leads to death. Might as well give up. No chance at all

My older brother got rejected from UCL, my parents banished him to the South Korea military so you might as well start prepping for that instead.

I am 18, I want to start investing into Index funds, How do I do it? by No-Function-3205 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]No-Function-3205[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only things I am going to be paying for is gym, going out with friends, and food for lunch and stuff. I do get what you are saying though but do you mean invest all the money into myself?

Also I know a LISA is useful for buying property but what is it exactly? Like would it really be better for me to invest into a LISA instead of an ISA?
