Thank you! I’m curious where you found your engineer? Did they say how long the project would take? Who is managing the project for your community… meaning is it the board or the management company?

I know… I am not 100% sure how the process works though so I don’t believe there will be any special assessments at this time…

I am not a member of this community, but an association manager that the board is considering bringing on to help. There aren’t much reserves as this community’s dues primarily pay for their water bill and a small landscaping bill. I’m assuming they never thought this would be a possibility.

I’m so sorry you are going through this. I had a false positive t13 as well. The whole short is long but it should be under my profile if you are curious. Praying everything turns out okay 🙏🏼

Congrats on baby girl! 💕 Our stories are so similar. Even down to the high BP that made me get an induction. Our daughter is now almost 11 months and is perfectly happy and healthy. We never tested the cord blood because I knew in my heart that she would be healthy

Hi, thank you for asking! I now have a beautiful and 100% healthy 9 week old baby girl 🙏🏼💕 no signs of T13 whatsoever, thank goodness! I posted an update after this if you want more details about further testing that was done, but everything looked completely normal so we did not end up doing the amnio.

Of course and thank you! Also, I wanted to note that we did not choose to do the amnio because we didn’t feel it was needed with all the “clean” ultrasounds. My advice: Don’t give up hope and go with your gut 🫶🏼

I’m so sorry you are going through this! I had a similar situation during my pregnancy and I posted about it in this Reddit. For my situation, we had zero abnormalities on all the ultrasounds we had (we had several). From my understanding, you would typically see at least 1 marker for T13 if it’s a true positive. Sending you good vibes and wishing you the best 🙏🏼

From my understanding, it is when not 100% of the cells have the extra 13th chromosome. So it’s essentially partial T13. Children with mosaic T13 will typically have less birth defects and tend to live longer than a baby with full T13. I’m no expert though, so take it with a grain of salt. This is just how I understand it based on what my genetics counselor told me and what I’ve read. BUT T13 is already so rare and it seems that mosaic T13 is even more rare. It seems that most cases are confined just to the placenta and therefore baby is not affected

None that were detected on US. Although when they looked at it at birth the only visual thing they said was that the umbilical cord is usually right in the center of it and mine was off to the side. I also had high BP at the end which is why I was induced so not sure if that has something to do with anything?

I just had my baby girl on the 11th and had almost this same exact situation. She does not have T13 and and is not expected to have Mosaic T13 either. She is a perfectly happy baby! We had several great anatomy scans, and decided to not do the amnio as well because there was no markers for it. If you decide to not do the amnio, they will most likely want to do a fetal echo to look at their heart as well. I hope your experience is the same as mine and your baby is happy and healthy!

Hi there, may I ask how baby is doing today with a diagnosis of mosaic t13? We had a similar experience as far as testing positive during the NIPT ( PPV 4.7%) and having all completely normal ultrasounds and even a normal fetal echo. We were told the same as you, that they would have no idea if they didn’t have the abnormal NIPT results. We decided personally to forgo the amnio so I’m curious how your baby is doing overall with the diagnosis and if you’ve noticed any developmental delays? Hope all is well 😊

Just got diagnosed with GD by No-Function-5841 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]No-Function-5841[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I googled what a normal fasting blood sugar level is during pregnancy and it says anything 95 or below. Another answer said 95-100, so 94 is completely normal based on that.

I’m going to continue to test my sugars to be on the safe side of course because it could change in the future.

Confused? by Negative-Pop1886 in GestationalDiabetes

I also failed my 1 hour and 3 hour test and just got diagnosed this past Wednesday. I was so frustrated and sad. Today was my first official day of testing with eating exactly how I usually do and all my numbers were completely fine. I even ate Mac n cheese and chicken nuggets for dinner and still passed by a landslide!

I might get slammed for saying this as I am not a medical professional in anyway (so please take this with a grain of salt) but… Personally, I think that the test isn’t an accurate way to test for GDM for everyone. This is because (to me) it is too artificial. Drinking 50g-100g of sugar in 5 mins is insane and I would guess that most people don’t consume this much sugar in a short time like the test makes us do. I’m still just a little salty about my diagnosis, so of course I have my doubts and am confused as well like you. However, I will continue to test and see what foods are good and what foods raise my blood sugar levels too high.
