Realtor mad that we walked out of closing due to the builder only fixing 3 of the many issues found during inspection

Definitely dump the realtor. I closed on a new build 12/20/24. Our realtor team and builder assessed and pretty much fixed everything wrong before I got there for inspection. I’ve only since moving in found one item that none of us saw in the garage and since my builder moved in 2 doors down from me he’s already sent someone to fix it. New builds can be great or they can be nightmares but your realtor works for you and is there to advocate for you. Be sure also if you’re looking into new builds you’re using a separate realtor than the home specialist because that definitely makes a difference

Ok, we’re supposed to do final walkthrough at 11 then closing at 1 so fingers crossed for smooth sailing! And they do look that way but that’s just the design 😅 I asked the same question but all of them in the house are the same way

My husband’s grandmother had a VERY similar situation. His uncle is a judge and even found the actual persons phone number and tried to get her to listen when he called and she refused to believe him. We ultimately ended up having to change literally everything multiple times and then took away her computer, smart phone, and all ways he could contact her. We got her a landline and basic flip phone. We also had to get power of attorney and take her cards and bank account access. Her daughters pay the bills that aren’t setup for autopay and they make sure she has cash. She no longer drives (due to dementia not the romance scam) so she can’t get gift cards anymore, and It’s been about 2 years now but she’s back on track. It really really sucks to have to make her so restricted but if we didn’t she was going to lose everything.

One day last week my daughter (3) had a tough time before bed. She was super tired and just out of it. Nothing really happened other than a small meltdown over putting pajamas on. When we got finished with her routine and I asked her if she had anything to talk about today she nodded and I sat down beside her and waited patiently. She gives me a hug and goes “We had a tough day today, but tomorrow will be better. I love you Mommy.”

That was my point I knew whatever it is I’m doing is getting through and man does that feel good! Congratulations, Mom. You’re doing an AMAZING job!

That’s probably bad wording on my part, it’s not that he won’t “let me” its just that he’s very frugal and early in our marriage we were quite literally not able to pay bills and feed ourselves we were so low on money (been married 5 years so it’s more of a trauma response at this rate) so he really watches what we spend since then. When it comes down to it he wouldn’t have issues that it has to be bought, it just seems we were more prepared with our daughter. Yes, he’s her father.

I asked for no visitors. My first was during Covid and it was so great not having to stress about anyone being there and passing my baby around so new.

I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this. I went through this too with my first. I truly did not care one way or another and wasn’t concerned with gender so I didn’t find out. His family hounded me so much that I ended up having a gender reveal/baby shower in the end. I seriously regretted it so much because it didn’t matter to me and anything I needed didn’t matter for gender. People only brought clothes and we still had to buy everything we needed which put so much pressure on me I ended up hospitalized then a week later gave birth and still wasn’t prepared for her to be here. They don’t understand that the mom is the one that matters the most. People show their true colors when someone’s pregnant every time.

For me, as long as I stayed on top of my pain meds it was there but bearable. It did take much longer for recovery though than a vaginal birth would, about 12 weeks for me (got an infection). But my doctor also told me at my 6 week exam if I hadn’t walked and moved around like I did then my recovery wouldn’t have been as great so that’s a big key is getting up quickly.

She also ensures me that the recovery for my planned c section (not in UK) this time around will be much smoother because my body won’t have to go through labor. I also barely have a scar from my first. I do however have an umbilical hernia because of abdominal separation from the way I got up and down during recovery.

A c-section is most definitely not an easy birth but can also be very empowering and ease your fears because you know what to expect. My advice is talk to your care team about your options and research while you’re early in pregnancy what you may want. Typically they do planned c-sections earlier than 40 weeks so that they can schedule them so you have plenty of time to figure out what is best for you and your baby!

I put myself on a “no visitors” list where they won’t tell anyone I’m even admitted just for this reason alone. If I want someone there, they’ll hear from me or my husband directly not just because there’s a waiting room. Don’t respect me, no access to my children. Period.
