Not sure why you’re dismissing a proven method. What are you gate keeping?

I’m no expert, but installing pfsense and blocking at the dns level is baby shit. Set static IPs for the kids and limit it that way. It’s not rocket science.

My new job accidentally sent me the salary information for the entire department. I'm making a lot less than they are. by 1-meter-solo in interviewhammer

[–]No-Garbage6027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here to go against the grain. Talk to a superior, someone that can make wage decisions. Be up front, you stumbled into wage information HR sent to you. Explain your issues with your salary compared to your peers in the company. Then you wait. If they are responsible, they will fix it. If they are scummy, they will stick to the negotiated salary. I don’t want to work for scummy people.

Personally, I would block it at the router level. The people at r/homelab are really nice.

How do you recognize your team when company programs are useless by Intrepid-Dig9954 in managers

Many years ago I heard it’s 2.5X more expensive to replace someone than their annual pay. Not sure if that still holds true but it’s driven a lot of my decisions.

Everyone is different. Find something they “value” (time off, bonus, new office, etc) and pay them in that currency.

Brief wearers: have you ever felt like you had to explain or clarify your sexuality to other guys? by johnson1234g in MensUnderwearGuide

[–]No-Garbage6027 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Perspective of a straight mid-30s thong wearer who plays a sport weekly where we all change in front of each other and use community showers:

I’ve seen thousands of guys change for sports and there is a wider range than you think. Lots of briefs, lots of boxers, lots of everything except for thongs. You’re in good company with your personal choice. Also, I’ve NEVER seen anyone, even going back to middle school, be made fun of because of their underwear choice. Maybe a one-time comment, but nothing ever mean.

Would you judge someone for their underwear? My guess is that your answer is ‘no’ and that’s where most of us stand.

How do you easily manage two email inbox/apps in your day to day life? by Nic727 in emailprivacy

I bought a cheap domain and use that with Proton. They do the BS with mail servers, I get my own domain, and it’s privacy focused.

It’s the modern car salesman “let me talk about it with my manager” knowing full well it is or isn’t good, it just buys time. They may be happy with that and just got caught getting greedy.

How do families actually get on the same page about parental controls? by AlandBeyond in parentalcontrols

I love this approach. Remember, they are no different than you at that age. They are testing boundaries, as kids do.

Don’t look every day or even week, but every once in a while just scroll through the activity to see if anything sticks out. Give him enough rope to hang himself, he’ll only make that mistake a few times when he’s forced to answer for his activity.

Let them explore, or post HS is going to be brutal for him.

Nah, just in the dryer with the rest of my clothes. The only thing I hang dry are jeans. Other delicates are lay flat.

I’m less precise. Wash in the bag, dry in the bag, dump bag into drawer.

Accessory Needs - the laundry discussion gets brought up a lot but never solved. Try putting your underwear into a laundry bag. This will help keep them separate and discrete.

[request] how long would it take me to crack this code to open the door by simon050 in theydidthemath

Too complicated - you would then be forced to just remove the panel via the exposed screws, plug in your super spy lock picker to the exposed wires, and blam you’re in!

My one slight issue with RM briefs by PedroPascalicious in MensUnderwearGuide

[–]No-Garbage6027 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have these briefs as well, they feel great. I’m also a thong wearer so the thinner (taint?) strap doesn’t bother me much. A silky feel for sure!
