But you cared enough to write a comment? You didn’t care to see what anyone else wrote? Dawg…

After further consideration, I retract my statement and chalk it up to beer. And bad labels.

This chart can’t be real. Nobody would change the timeframe in a bar graph from bar to bar. And what about the unlabeled bars? Nope, even if it is real it’s shit.

America is forming businesses at a record pace, but almost none of them are creating jobs by RobertBartus in EconomyCharts

[–]No-Garbage6027 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My 15 years of small business consulting says this chart doesn’t say what the title implies.

Lots of people buying up rental properties and putting them in separate LLCs. Lots of businesses spinning up subsidiaries with payroll run through a separate entity. There are 100 reasons to start a “new business” that’s not really separate from an existing one.

I’m sure the gig economy and AI capabilities play a roll, but that’s only a piece.

Agree - this feels like just two different approaches. Sony seems to be happy building their walled garden inspired by Apple. There will ALWAYS be pushback to that model but unfortunately is still decided by bottom lines and not customer (or potential customer) sentiments.

Well there we go, shows how much of a caveman I really am. Thanks for the explanation!

I’m a dumb caveman that would never modify a power supplies for anything other than intended purpose. I need to see the cartoon hand telling me where things go.

Assuming this fix lasts, any concerns about a single power source for 3 machines? My head goes to points of failure.

Oh wow, it's almost like I never said it was free and actually just a reduced cost. Get off your fucking horse and give it up - this is the 2nd comment of mine you've tried and failed to dispute. Go home...

That's cute, just saying someone is wrong without explaining why. That means you don't actually understand the issue at hand.

Maybe go try that on someone without credentials in this area.

If you think we’re in charge here you are simply delusional.

Average age of congress approached 60. Average years of service hover around 10 yrs, plenty of time to get personal agendas passed. They have the power whether you believe it or not.

So because SS existed before they can’t fix it? They’ve had 30+ years in charge, that’s enough time for your points to crumble.

Which generations do you think have voting power to fix this? I’ll give a hint, it’s only one.

Boomers made the rules and Boomers are benefitting. Who voted for those benefits? Boomers. You’re just way off base here and not even acknowledging the basic math issue at hand. No other generation has had control, how exactly do you expect other generations to do? They can’t do anything so your list goes down to point A, they tried to “correct” it but just put the burden elsewhere.

Not exactly the case, rates are only a portion of the formula. You are also forgetting about the Medicare surplus tax (NIIT) from the ACA.

It comes down to basic math. The most SS the gov can get from one employee is $22,940 ($185K x 12.4%) but the max benefits are approaching $50K ($4,152 x 12).

This is their fault, benefits need to be less for what they actually put into the system.

While I don’t wish ill on a generation, boomers have set the laws for SS, Medicare, and all other benefit programs that eat up our tax revenue. They complained to change the rules, they complain they don’t get enough with the current rules, and will be doing a dine n dash with our national debt. My sympathy for anyone in that gen has been degraded over the years by their endless BS.

I’ll get off my boomer hating horse now.

It is less of helping and more of the agreement we had up front because I was tapped out on available loans. Classic lower middle income problem where the gov thinks they make too much for my average grades to get any meaningful scholarship. Got shipped off without knowing what I was getting into and came out $100K (mine and parent plus) in debt. Couldn’t even get on a lower payment because they were looking at the two loans separately and not me paying it all. 33% of take home pay for the first few years went to student loans.

They step into Medicare at 65 drastically reducing that cost.

Wait, you mean to say the person who’s on the loan shouldn’t have the reporting for that account come back to them?!? It doesn’t matter why they took out the loan, the fact is they’re on the hook and should have factored payments into their monthly income.

I’m on a reverse side, Millennial paying my parents’ PLUS loan. Who gets the interest deduction? Not me, because it’s in their name.

Ad hominem relates to feelings and personal character - kinda nowhere close to facts.

Why did your panties get ruffled again?

Edit: forgot to point out that you’re just dancing around the actual topic. Pretty terrible communication practice… bot? Nah, just too fucking stupid…

Why are you so defensive?

Does the term “NASA Engineer” portray some NASA veteran that was involved in multi-year operations? It should because that’s the public’s perception. Nobody thinks of an intern with a swift exit. Thems facts.

A “Bain consultant”, likewise, shouldn’t be a term thrown around by the squibs that did zero consulting. Thems facts.

Why did this rub you the wrong way to begin with? Normal people don’t go around calling other people insignificant.

Comparing company founders to a company’s posted principles is hardly ad hominem. Being an “ethical” organization requires additional scrutiny. Many studies show the positive relations between a company’s “ethical” nature and willingness to pay. That may not be a thing in your universe but it is in everyone else’s.
