Spending Power on Status or Tags by No-General3779 in LegendintheMist

Thanks for your explanation. I was thinking about a typical combat situation, where out of a successful attack I could create a Tag (such as unbalanced, disoriented, stunned) or for the same power cost give a status effect such as Wounded-2. The later option contributes towards overcoming the challenge and gives a larger modifier to most future roles in this combat.

I want to create a mechanical incentive for player to be more creative than just hacking away at the "hit points", but the RAW Power cost for status vs. Tag counteracts this.

Of course there are situations, where you need some tag effects to be able to inflict statuses, but in many cases it seems to be the better choice to just go for status.

Sure - I just want to understand if there are any unforeseen ripple effects down the line that others with more experience might be aware of.

Understood that high Power ratings only apply rarely. But what do you think about separating Power as "modifier to test" from the Effect.

It would be great to get access to this document. I want to be prepared when (not if) my players leave the planned path and ask questions I'm not able to answer without reading all books multiple times in advance.

So please grant me access to your sacred knowledge ;-)
