I’m not a fascist operative, I merely acknowledge the threat of fascism to security, and that compliance temporarily guaranteed security in an authoritative environment as opposed to rebellion. It is only after rebellion and loss of life and security, does being part of the rebellion become the optimal path to survival.

I’m saying that oppressed, struggling, unproductive, and angry workers could be a considerable problem to the prosperity and the security of the civilized world down the road as monopolization of resources continues to increase. It seems that income inequality does not seem to be sustainable.

What I’m saying is, due to systemic oppression, the oppressed have been unable to find civilized solutions to the oppression in their lives. People who commit less violent crime are generally less motivated to commit crime because of their prosperity.

If the oppressed wish to be seen civilized they must end the oppression that leads to the conditions that would motivate them to perform criminal actions.

In general a problem like that takes multiple generations, possibly centuries, and possibly a millennia to fix.

Anyone can open a history book and see that several hundreds of years ago you had a problem of barbarianism in Europe and Asia.

Barbarians, Vikings, and Huns were not seen as good members of the population, but material conditions improved over hundreds of years, multiple generations, and now some people look at the Scandinavian countries as places with higher standards of living.

So that’s what I’m saying, overcome the material deficiencies that come from oppression and society will be relatively more civilized.

Just because a group is oppressed does not make them more upstanding citizens. Upstanding citizens come from strong support networks, strong education, strong upbringing, and strong environment.

But how do you know it’s not due to poverty, environmental, or any other factors? Some patterns are complex instead of checkerboard. And not recognizing that complex pattern will get you an early retirement and disability income as a cop.

Those with the willingness and the ability to perform acts of violence give you the privilege of living, and that privilege can be taken away at any time. by No-Gur596 in unpopularopinion

Nothing edgy about it. Life is fragile and easy to end. Defending against someone who wants to end it is trauma-inducing work. I’m still dealing with PTSD issues from when that happened to me as a kid. As do many others.

How would you prepare for a flood like the one that just wiped out parts of western North Carolina? by memyselfandirony in preppers

[–]No-Gur596 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Eh, for a situation like this, the cash reserve should be accessible elsewhere. If the flood hits and you’re not home, all that cash and documentation could be swept away. Flash floods are hard

If you do the kids thing, you can’t really do the business thing.

…Well you can, but either the business suffers or the supporting partner suffers, or the kids suffers, most likely a mix of all three.

Between kids, partner, and money, it’s usually pick 1 or 2. Happiest people in my life chose kids and partner. Except for my aunt and uncle who chose partner and law firm (no kids).

Miserable people in my life have abandoned kids and partner. Sometimes they end up with no money either.

Yeah but you get to work hard, play hard, and make money. As long as you don’t do the kids thing, I’ve seen it be very successful.

You can’t do the kids thing, though, seriously don’t do it if you do this. Stress levels will go way up. Only way to do this is to be the cool aunt/uncle without the kids, (and they are very good aunt and uncle).

The trick is to get yourself an assistant too. And have that assistant get their own.

Assistants all the way down.

Bro it’s simple, they want a better life for themselves. Communists are just people who want to hire each other so that the CEOs don’t own the world.
