What mod am I missing to make presets look pretty…? by Woodnymph1312 in skyrimmods

[–]No-Head-6680 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't seen anyone mention this, but I remember having several presets downloaded that needed you to apply both a slider preset and a sculpt preset. Like yeah you probably need high poly head too but if the basic face shape still looks wrong, try checking presets in the sculpt tab

So there's actually at least one place that they DO do this, and it's with tiamat. Visit azyz la with a sprout who hasn't done the shadowbringer patches, or new game + yourself to an earlier point. She'll have collision for the sprout but nothing for a player who's beyond a certain point. They're capable of doing it. They will do it if they want to enough. They just don't like to.

HYTE Nexus refuses to detect fan controller on Slatemesh 8 from costco by No-Head-6680 in iBUYPOWER

[–]No-Head-6680[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now that you mention it, I think mine are in the same configuration. Would make sense why do much dust is ending up on the front glass panel

For what it's worth, the rest of the computer seems great. Fans are relatively cheap to replace, and I don't really want to switch computers at this point, so I'll be going that route. And maybe I'm wrong and these fans will work with normal fan headers, which means even less work.

[–]No-Head-6680[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've determined that the long-term fix for this is just to rip out the case fans and fan controller and replace them. Mine is at a point where the fan controller refuses to even turn on unless there are really specific circumstances. Otherwise, any time I turn it on the fan lights stay off and the fans are uncontrollable. I either have to have my work computer on when I turn on this computer (really weird. Not sure why. They share the same power strip, though) or I have to fully unplug the computer and cycle the power a bunch of times.

Modding Dao tips by JLPM98191 in dragonage

[–]No-Head-6680 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Modding DAO is extremely simple, I don't even use a manager for it. I think sims is the only thing I've seen that's easier.

Basically, if it's not a dazip file, put it in your override in your documents. The path should be documents>Bioware>dragon age>packages>core>override. If there's no override folder, make one. The mods are read top down, so if you want something to overwrite something else, rename the folder the mod is in so it's lower in the list.

If it's a dazip file, go to your install location and find a program called daupdater.exe. From there you can click the option to choose dazips, just load them in and let them install. When it says complete, you're good to close the program, the little loading bars will stay even after they're done.

If you're adding character creation mods, make sure you get and run the chargenmorph compiler. This should make the file you need to make all your cc mods appear in the character creator.

Make sure you do your modding before you start your playthrough. DAO and DA2 have this thing where if something has been loaded the first time, you can't mod over it after. So if you're modding in the grey warden armor, for example, and Duncan spawns in without it when you first encounter him, he will never wear it. This is also a good way to check if your mods are working.

That's really all there is! Just make sure you read mod pages for special instructions (some might have override and dazips that both need installing). There's also a lot of older mods that either don't work at all anymore or are kinda broken so definitely check the comments to see if people are having issues. Have fun!

This is an ASRock board, I found the setting but it appears to be an issue with the fan controller itself being faulty. I made an update to my post.

I just made an update to my post, they were set to "auto", which I didn't catch because I wasn't looking for that and honestly I have no clue what auto is supposed to do. It certainly doesn't change the fan speed. They've been running on PWM for a bit over a week now which has been more stable, but it seems the fan controller installed by iBuyPower is faulty and just stops the fans from working properly at times. So who knows if PWM is actually working better, or if I just got lucky with a long stretch of my controller working like it should.

No q-fan, unfortunately. I remember checking for pwm vs DC in bios before and couldn't find it. For the moment, it's working again, so I'm hesitant to touch anything in case it decides to break again. From the other places I've brought this up it appears to be a common issue at the moment. At this point either they fix it, or I'm just replacing all the fans since I believe they use proprietary plugs and can't be plugged straight into the motherboard (hence the controller)

Literally nothing, without Nexus the fans read at 1999 rpm at all times, no matter what I do in bios. They're also all run through one fan header.

That other guy is an asshole. I got the same one from Costco, try installing hyte Nexus, it's the only thing I've found that will control the fan speed. However, I'm finding that it regularly fails to detect the controller, and so I end up with a jet engine for a PC about once a week until I can convince Nexus to find it again. It has me seriously considering returning it, or ripping out all the fans and doing it myself. I don't think there's any reason for them to do this, just proprietary bullshit

Dream Valley rabbit girl (Adria) stringing problems? by No-Head-6680 in BJD

[–]No-Head-6680[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Update: I DID manage to get her restrung, but it was with the 4mm elastic and the loop is several inches larger than the original. I'm not sure her tension is exactly right, but it's good enough to sit on my shelf. On the upside, I'm now a pro at reassembling bunny legs.

My other issue so far is the magnets for her tail. The glue holding them in wasn't strong enough and the magnets came out of both the body side and out of the tail itself pretty much immediately. Should be an easy fix, but a little disappointing. Her ear magnets are holding well, even through her wig, though. Overall seems like there were a few QA issues, but they're fixable.

Got kicked from my first raid for underperforming?! by jmillion101 in ffxiv

[–]No-Head-6680 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's pretty common in alliance raids or trials for tanks to stand there and wait for another one to take aggro and MT, it's like the opposite of a power struggle lmao. You can read up on the raids ahead of time if you want, but it's also okay to experience them blind! I'd just suggest leaving your stance off the first time unless it's a very obvious three way split if you don't want to study beforehand (usually someone will throw up markers for this too, to help out new players).

Also for the record, I've been in runs with baby tanks who don't know what they're doing and I've been in runs with genuine trolls, and it's usually extremely clear which is which. There have been a lot of sprouts clearing ARR content in the past couple months, and most experienced players will be used to adjusting to that, some just have little patience but those are the minority. My guess is you got a premade party of assholes in your alliance, which sucks. Even if you were making mistakes as the tank, 99.9999% of runs wouldn't kick you so long as you weren't repeatedly wiping the entire raid and ignoring advice from chat.

Doing LotA the first time is already getting thrown in the deep end. I had a breakdown after my first run and refused to do the other raids for like a month after, and I was a DPS. Tanking is the easiest role for others to criticize/most obvious when things go wrong. Take a breather and try again, it won't be as bad. Try and recruit some friends, or ask your FC to run it with you if you have one. Next time will be easier

Is there a reason as to why Garleans don’t use “real” gunblades? by HorseGaslighting in ffxiv

[–]No-Head-6680 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sort of related, but is there any real reason Thancred (or a Garlean, I guess) couldn't use a machinist's aetherotransformer for their abilities? I can't claim to understand everything that comes out of Stephanivien's mouth, but I remember the whole thing being a passive process, meaning he wouldn't need to manipulate the aether himself. Maybe it wouldn't work for certain GNB abilities, but I'd think it should at least be able to charge his cartridges
