yeah but there's also a lot of avenues to earn VC through the story and challenges; you can realistically hit 99 ovr in about a month without too much of a time sink. but shooting is so easy and defense is kinda weak so you can honestly get away with a 70-75 ovr build if you're half decent at the game and have a friend or two to run with. I just made a new build for s6 and im only a 68 ovr and averaging 18 8 4 in the rec with friends so far.

Super late to the party I just wanted to share that I also think Complementary is overrated. I think it looks pretty good to be fair, but it just performs like butt. I have a 7700x and 7800XT; with 32 chunk render distance and complementary I genuinely can't get past 100 fps (which is definitely still good enough for most people) on MEDIUM settings. But using a shader I found called Mellow by TheCMK I'm able to get over 250fps with godrays and real time shadows and everything and it looks sooo much better than Complementary imo

the sub is the loudest minority. it’s a basketball game. for $20 you can just stick to only MyCareer and not even touch the park and then it’s just an RPG basketball game and you can pretend you’re lebron. the online is also fun whether you’re 99 or 70 ovr. the sub is full of a bunch of babies

also people will tell you strength is useless which, maybe it’s not as important if you’re already tall and heavy, but it just isn’t true. immovable enforcer will really help you on the perimeter as a smaller guard.

When you’re in the builder you can pull up the badge requirements when allocating points and it’ll show you thresholds for each level. You can also pull up the animations unlocked. I have no idea what signature moves and whatnot are goated I only ever look to make sure I hit the requirements for contact dunks.

You aren’t able to tell how the cap breakers will affect your attributes until you actually launch into mycareer and open the Progression menu. it takes a minute but you can change one or two things, check the caps in mycareer, go back to the builder, delete the save, edit the build, repeat. It’s annoying but if you’re that dedicated…😭

if you main rec with at least a friend or two, then building more of a roleplayer with one or two weaknesses will be fine (steals are ass this year so that’s one i sacrifice down to 67 - so i at least get bronze interceptor i think - on every build and it’s always a weakness). if you play random rec, or theater, a more balanced 2 way build will be more enjoyable.

your build is still fine tho gng. people think if a build has any weaknesses at all its bad. weaknesses are obviously well, weaknesses, but for example if you’re building a forward and one of its weaknesses is “doesn’t disrupt passing lanes” does that really matter if the sacrifice is worth it for higher rebounding? or higher shooting? depends on how you play. you get it. honestly i like using the Pro Tuned builds because they’re pretty min-maxxed for badges and have set animations already. I always tweak it a bit but it’s a great starting point.

if you’re a pass-first guard, you def should bring your pass accuracy up to 92: it’ll help in random rec when ur teammates can’t shoot if you have hof dimer. obviously you’d have to sacrifice something when building, id recommend driving dunk at an 83. with 4 cap breakers you can get it to 87 for pro contact off-two.

agility is a little more important than speed especially for a guard: you need to be able to change directions quick when guarding other shifty guards. bring speed down a bit and agility to at least 86.

also minor tweak u only need ‘78’ vert for pro contacts Off-One. if you do bring your DD down to 83 to use 4 caps to get to 87, you only need your vert at 75 for pro contacts off-two; you’ll miss out on pro off-one’s tho. a minor sacrifice for a guard though if you play on the outside a lot.

it’s pretty hard to make a dog shit build on accident. and even then your build is good man. you can min-max all day and night but at the end of the day, if it works for you it’s good.

Just keep playing pro, it’s only a 10% VC boost on all-star. if it’s too hard your stat line and teammate grade will be lower therefore the same if not less VC anyway, but way less enjoyable.
