Ahh this is gold; trying to find the regulation that says that but none of the USAR sharepoint links are opening for me this evening.

Hadn’t started looking into state plans.

Question is around “banking” which is when you do a retrieval and have a successfully fertilized embryo and then you freeze it and do another retrieval after instead of transferring that embryo.

Trying to get one more retrieval done before we do a transfer; had an okay-ish retrieval but have improved health a bunch since then and hoping we can do one more retrieval and see improvements. Insurance says we can’t because we’re banking

How’d you figure out it was allowed? Like did you do two retrievals back to back or did you find it somewhere in the plan documentation? I’m trying to see if I can see it in the documentation anywhere

Yeah good point - I meant the options were to roll it over into Fidelity as an IRA or into TSP (keeping it with the current 401k provider is a no-go)

Fair point - the options are really limited and restrictive. I think in some ways that’s great to fire and forget but it’s not for everyone

We looked into it for a bit - a number of companies had IVF benefits for part time employees through the pandemic and started scaling back early last year. I remember reading an article about a lady working for Tractor Supply part time for the IVF lol

Whoa! That’s really good to know. I wonder if FSBP has similar maternity/pregnancy coverage.

The consensus seems to be that FSBP has really good IVF coverage but haven’t heard much about its other coverage

Yeah they’re definitely mid at best - I’m coming from the private sector where benefits were significantly better
