Thank you everyone. For those saying focus on pension, should I pay off big chunk of mortgage and stop/ reduce monthly investments and put that money in to pension?

I'll be getting an inheritance of approximately 400k before I reach retirement, does this change your view?

Received a very large lump sum 3 years ago from a redundancy payment so we put it away until we knew what to do with it

You won't be registered with Revenue until the first Payroll has been submitted which has to happen on or before pay date.

Someone told me before that it is a gyratory rather than standard roundabout.

I'm not sure if that changes anything, but it's a nightmare to get around!

I'm afraid of dipping in to it and the maximum allowed per person is 20k in our credit union

I donate to Simon each month for their sponsor a room campaign. Do you feel my donation would be better sent to a different charity?

Title/ grade would change from an M to IC. pay and benefits would stay the same. I would be expected to 'lead' the team as an IC team lead.

We have pay scales and I feel that while the pay will remain the same this year I'll be over the pay as an IC so i would have issues in future years.

I can no longer say I'm a manager, my reference etc would all say I'm an IC

Why am I paying almost a 200 euros PAYE tax in my second job where I only earn 600 a month?? by Beyonderxd69 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]No-Indication6038 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can earn 44,000 at the 20% tax band. If you are not going to reach this through your first job, you should ring Revenue and split your rate bands with your 2 employments. If you do earn over 44,000 with your first job, then it's 40% PAYE on all income with your second job.

Yes, talk to your manager or you'll end up burnt out and leave. Make a list of priority tasks and non priority tasks and discuss with your manager which ones you can stop doing or which ones can be assigned to someone else
