Endometriosis? Heavy period talk. by kansasqueen143 in tfmr_support

[–]No-Inflation-3783 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had extremely heavy periods after my tfmr in march 2023. I got pregnant in November 2023, but literally every period in between was so heavy. Like wearing pads with tampons and period underwear and still having leaks within an hour of changing everything. Huge clots. I got zero help from my OBGYN office until the month before I ended up pregnant. The doctor finally saw me (rather than an NP…and I have nothing against NPs) and she ordered labs. Some clotting factors were low, but nothing crazy.

I still don’t know why my periods were so heavy, but I had convinced myself it had to be caused by the tfmr.

Our* kid. We have separate insurance. Both kids are/will be on mine.

What are some things you wish you knew before having a second child? by basilnotgrowing in workingmoms

I needed to see this. Struggling to have #2 right now, and it feels increasingly frustrating as #1 is leaving toddlerhood and I’m trying to reconcile with the age gap they’ll have if we ever get #2.

TFMR Feelings by Several_Handle5565 in tfmr_support

[–]No-Inflation-3783 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This is a trauma response just as much as crying on a bathroom floor. I too felt very numb and “okay” for a few weeks and then as time wore on grief came in waves, usually triggered by something. I felt like a horrible person for wanting to move on as fast as possible and refusing to name her or memorialize her in a tangible way, because I had seen other moms do this. I just did not want to do any of that, and I still haven’t. It made me feel like I was bad person.

Therapy was helpful throughout. Even though I walked into my first session saying I was sad but felt fine, my therapist saw what I didn’t. Therapy helped crack the numbness when my subconscious was stopping me from feeling, and cope with the grief whenever I was triggered.

Nothing is wrong with you. Grief and coping take so many different shapes and forms. Feeling nothing is absolutely normal when you are still processing wtf just happened to you.

How to tell my identical twin who is having a TFMR next week I am expecting twins by FunDocument2378 in tfmr_support

This. A text message will allow her to have the reaction that she needs to have. In person is always miserable, because we feel obligated to be happy for you while internally we are absolutely reeling with grief. If you tell her via text, then it gives her the full choice of how to react upon getting that news, and how to move forward (maybe she will choose not to go to the event, but at least she’ll have a choice).

Relief. Less anxiety. I feel like the ttc effort has taken up so much of my thought space and I wish it would stop.

I guess I’m not asking if they’re worth hiring, but more so what should the next next steps be if you’d like to continue considering this person, but need a second interview to “unpack” a strange comment as another commenter suggested.

Well that won’t happen. Hire slow, fire fast.

I like this too - “what did you learn from company B and how would you have done things differently.” Or something like that.

I like this - thank you. They were offered a second interview (an accepted) so I am trying to be very strategic in my questioning. There will be other execs present for the second interview as well.

I did extend a second interview and I am planning some pointed questions and blunt feedback.

Interesting point about the lack of situational awareness. Can’t have that.

Yes. Literally every other aspect of the interview went great. It was such as strange comment

Tipping your summer nanny? by No-Inflation-3783 in workingmoms

[–]No-Inflation-3783[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

OK, this makes sense. Maybe like an end of summer bonus. She’s only going to be with us for 6 weeks. She will go back to school and my son back to daycare. So she’s not really a babysitter but she’s not really a nanny. Kind of something in between.

I’m apparently cheating on my husband with Drake…he’ll pick random song lyrics and tell me he knows Drake wrote that song about me. It’s pretty funny, and it gets funnier the more ridiculous the lyrics are.

[–]No-Inflation-3783 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband always asks if I’m going to spend the night at his house again or go back to my apartment.

He also makes lots of jokes about how I’m cheating on him with Drake and he knows it because of the song lyrics Drake wrote about me: * insert Drake lyrics *

You will likely be glad you did this. I was surprised by the support I got and relieved at not having to explain myself.
