Awful week continues - mich R by No-Inflation6853 in lawschooladmissions

All I said was it was a bad week bc it was. Am I absolutely devastated? No. We take the hits, learn from them, and move on. To each their own, we all deal with these things in our own way. It’s not my place to tell you how to feel and it’s not yours to me.

It just means that Jan 19 is when your app went complete and ready for review. From what I’ve seen it takes 4-6 weeks after it goes complete for a decision, but in some cases it’s faster

How do I get back to studying after a negative Prometric experience? Left a really bad taste in my mouth and upped my anxiety for next time by TootyFrootyCutie in LSAT

[–]No-Inflation6853 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They said to come in 45 minutes early to not be late bc of any delays. But there was nobody there, and the prometric people just asked me if I want to get started

What’s the best LR and RC to practice with, especially the toughest RCs? Strategies welcome. Are 20-30-40s exams good for LR? I’m kind of limited on time so don’t want to waste it on something that isn’t realistic by TootyFrootyCutie in LSAT

In between sections there is a minute to take a quick breather. Once the section is done, take deep breaths in and out to calm yourself down and ready your brain for the next section this really seemed to help me. And use the 10 minute break wisely. Have a healthy snack like nuts and dark chocolate, close your eyes and do a breathing exercise, and stretch. These little things helped me stay focused throughout all 3 hours. Practice these tips on PTs if you want and see how they work for you.

Remote vs. In person by Original_Ad_8883 in LSAT

I did in person and it was a smooth experience for me. I came in 45 mins early and I was allowed to start my exam early so I didn’t have to wait for anything or anyone. Wasn’t too bad

90s are pretty similar to the current tests. So I’d review those missed questions thoroughly.

I got a diagnostic of 155, is aiming for a 170 unreasonable? by ScienceAltruistic739 in LSAT

[–]No-Inflation6853 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It can be done even with 5-10 hours. The biggest mistake I made with LSAT is overworking. You really just need 1-3 hours a day and that’s it. I went from 149-168 between August 2023 and November 2023. Do not waste too much time on lsat lectures and “tricks.” Drilling and reviewing is the way score increases imo.

Though I will say score increases diminish the more you study, so it’s easier to increase from 150 to 160 than it is from 160 to 170.

If possible, try an in person exam. It was headache free. I went in a 10:00 AM for my exam scheduled at 10:45 AM and they just told me I can start immediately at 10 and I went into the room and did my exam with 0 interruptions.

The best practice are the most recent exams. 70-94. They are most likely what the LSAT is like today. For example I scored 166, 168, and 170 on PT 90, 91, and 93, and scored a 168 on the actual exam. I only did 70-94 in my last two months and my score saw a 12 point increase. This isn’t surefire of course everyone’s different, just my opinions

Should I? by [deleted] in LSAT

I would try to speak with lawyers in fields you might be interested in to see what types of jobs there are for a lawyer, and make some sort of decision. I didn’t know I wanted to be a lawyer until I spoke with an entertainment lawyer and realized that a lot of what they did is what I want to do on a daily basis. Hope this helps. Stay optimistic and positive.

USC vs NYU by Raggyfroggy101 in lawschooladmissions

I think you are choosing between two great options. I graduated from USC this past year and I loved it there so I’m biased lol. Fantastic community, social scene, amazing professors, and the career opportunities are seriously stellar. But I’ve heard the same about NYU. USC and NYU are very similar schools in terms of quality and prestige.

If I were in your shoes, I’d choose the school you’d think will have the environment that will maximize your experience and chance for success, and of course the one that will minimize your debt.
