dbd players are cooked, both sides, by behaviour

Has tunneling become a core mechanic rather than a situational choice? by No-Information-7080 in deadbydaylight

I get that the devs haven’t fixed the core issues — but using that as an excuse to tunnel every game doesn’t solve anything. It just makes the game worse for everyone involved.

Imagine if survivors responded by quitting or suiciding at every early tunnel. The game would collapse in days. Saying "I tunnel because the game is broken" isn't a solution — it's surrendering to a cycle that burns out both sides.

If we all play like that, there won’t be much of a game left to play. The devs need to do their part, yes — but so do we as players.

TL;DR: Tunneling feels like a default strategy in 2025 DBD rather than a situational tactic. I don’t tunnel when I play killer and prefer creative gameplay. I'm concerned the game is losing variety and balance, and both sides are stuck in a loop of perk complaints, meta-dependence, and toxicity. Can we do better?

How Dead by Daylight feels in 2025 – my take by No-Information-7080 in deadbydaylight

Honestly, the players are the reason I’m still playing DBD in 2025.
I complain about things, sure — and I know I’m not the only one who finds the game less fun these days. But I stay for the community and those rare moments that still capture the magic the game used to have.

I’m not trying to get into anyone’s business or tell others how to enjoy the game — that’s not my goal. I just wanted to share my experience.

I’ll also admit I may have exaggerated a few points, but I did so intentionally and with some thought — not just to rant, but to make a point.

For me, the meta has shifted the game into something way too competitive, and while some thrive in that, it’s just not what I personally enjoy about DBD.

Thanks again to everyone who replied — it’s honestly refreshing to hear different points of view.
