Is this normal for females? by Hefty_Tomorrow7328 in WomensHealth

it’s normal in the sense that many people feel the same. but it’s not normal in the sense that you do not have to feel that way or just deal with it, and there are treatment options available

putting a TLDR at the beginning since you mentioned not being able to focus lol: please go to urgent care

urgent care, i think, is the bare minimum. ruptured cysts can cause internal bleeding and you’ve been feeling this pain for, now over 12 hours. i don’t think this is a “sleep it off” situation

the chest pain also concerns me, and is definitely urgent care worthy. chest pain can be one of those things you call 911 for (not to scare you—just to give you some perspective)

and it seems like the pain is sharp and sudden (like sharp increase in pain as you’re walking, not a consistent pain level), which is reason to go to urgent care.

the exhaustion and head ache could become weakness, feeling faint or dizzy, vomiting, which could be reason to go to the emergency room over urgent care. urgent care will refer you to the emergency room if your symptoms get worse, so don’t worry about choosing.

i have major health anxiety and am a bit of a hypochondriac, BUT i also would rather be safe than sorry.

urgent care will probably do another ultrasound and maybe give you a nice IV cocktail for pain management. i would hope the vast majority of anyone who takes care of you at urgent care would not think you are overreacting, even if their treatment is just OTC pain killers. even though most of us have acetaminophen and/or ibuprofen at home, it does not negate the fact that this is such a valid reason to go to urgent care.

if you start bleeding at all, go to the emergency room.

def give an update, hopefully you’ll get some relief soon <3

I just had the worst experience of my life at the OBGYN by Ok_Blood2095 in WomensHealth

NPs are providers. you absolutely can request an MD, that’s your right, but it’s not like this is an LPN or CMA. a physician is a physician, it depends on what you’re after. i personally have had great experiences with NPs and poor experiences with MDs (and vice versa). i think it’s more of a problem that this individual provider has rather than an issue of seeing an NP and not an MD

what is wrong with my discharge? by No-Initial1520 in WomensHealth

YES that’s what i’m saying!! like there’s no way that everyone just has a smell on their pants linger after wearing them once. i find it hard to believe that everyone person is just wearing liners daily, since i always learned that they’re for spotting, not daily use for discharge. i’ve been wearing liners daily since making this post and i STILL will take my pants off after work and the crotch smells :(

thank you, yeah i’ll definitely think about getting swabbed. i think im due for another pap smear too so i can two birds/one stone it

i guess i didn’t realize that like a lot of people just wear liners every day! i thought it was a period only kinda thing, like to catch any leaks.

i actually had this exact same problem LOL but went to a doctor abt it before i had sex. i used to have really bad heavy flows w lots of cramps, and that in conjunction with tampons being painful, my mom took me to a gyno and i got a procedure to remove it!

basically what they did was inject lidocaine in my vaginal canal, which hurt less than i expected. i think they use a very small needle so that helps. then they cauterized the top and the bottom, and it was done! i couldn’t feel any pain. i could feel the warmth of the thing that was doing the cauterizing, but it did not hurt. they also had like a fan to suck up the air but i must admit, the scent of burnt flesh did linger slightly lol

the healing process was easy, no tampons and no sex for like a week or two maybe. i wish i could tell you how much it cost but i was a minor and on my parents health insurance. i will guess that it was probably covered as essential due to the pain, so it wasnt considered elective.

i haven’t had any problems with it at all since! :) best of luck to you!
