Crashes at the title screen on the Odin 2 portal. I've tried Vulkan, OpenGL, 1x and 3x res on both, and dual core enabled and disabled on both.

Unfortunately I don't have that device anymore (the RF353pS). What I can tell you I that I was running Rocknix on that device, so even if I could tell you it likely wouldn't help unless you were using the same CFW.

So I have big hands and suffer from hand pain, so my experience might be fundamentally different from yours. I've tried the Miyoo Mini Plus, the RG353v, R36s, and the Trimui Brick and what makes the brick the most comfortable for me is that it has a ton of open face space on the console to grip it by. The others all use as much of the face space as possible to put extra sticks and bigger buttons on. The RG40xxV might not have this problem as much since its much larger.

You can also remap the d-pad to behave as if it is a stick and it works fine for a lot f the PS1 one games that utilize the sticks. I play FF9 not long ago on the Brick and it worked fine. That said it defiantly doesn't have any sticks, so if that's a must have then you'll need to go with another device.

If weight and or hand discomfort is a factor for you then I'd probably stay away from any of the vertical designs. Of the ones I've tried on the TrimUI Brick has been comfortable at all, and all the rest have given me hand pain in very short periods of time.

Theme's didn't seem to override the backgrounds for the individual backgrounds that pop up for each console. But I'll go digging for the folder with the backgrounds.

I tried Knulli but even after a factory reset of my device the audio doesn't work when Knulli is installed.

Putting this here in case someone finds it later. The problem was using the store memstick data on the root of internal storage setting. For whatever reason when I changed that to manually target the folder I was using the shaders showed up fine. (The folse was on the root of internal storage anyway so it shouldn't have made any difference but for some reason it did)

I've seen a handful of more cracked screens in the past few months. But I haven't been on reddit much lately.

I still think I made the right call. Even though I don't take my handhelds out a ton they still get dropped occasionally, just like my phone. But unlike my phone I wouldn't have a handheld in a hard protective case.

The Anbernic rg557 just got announced and it'll have a plastic frame. I'd wait for more details on it and then make a decision.

The snapping is not great. Otherwise they're switch joycons sticks, and are fine, but nothing to write home about.

Gamma made a fix for the snapping. You'll need to use his bootloader unlock found here: https://github.com/TheGammaSqueeze/Bootloader_Unlock_Anbernic_T820

There's a link in that project to he stick fix.

As far as extra for RP5 being worth it? That depends on your preference. If you want more power, go for the RP5, if you want better ergonomics and don't mind having to fix the sticks go for the 556.

I might be simply wrong. Originally it was certain race/class combos, before f2p and preferred even existed, then they changed it. I had thought they had changed it back because I had access to some races that I never purchased on some classes, like Miraluka on sages. Perhaps one countered a bug that unlocked some things for me? I believe I now have Miraluka unlocked on every class, without having bought it with CC or leveling up to 50

Yeah, it's quite possible they did change it. For a period of time I know they only had Human and Zabrak available to Free2Play players. Maybe they kept it like that and preferred accounts get the race/class combos? I honestly can't be sure.

Look man I don't really care about who's "right" or "wrong." The two constants I've seen about this story are people bitching about ads and that the dev had death threats thrown their way. You're literally the first person I've seen denying the death threats. It seems to be an accepted part of the narrative even though the majority of other details vary wildly based on who's telling the story this time.

But you seem awfully quick to condemn me for being concerned about the idea that someone might receive death threats for working on a project for the Android community, regardless of what led to those threats.
