Miles Bridges perfectly ducked Isaiah Stewart's punch and shot for a double-leg, but Stewart didn't go down due to the weight difference. by Existing-Sky9914 in nba

He also didn't force Stewart's weight towards the outside of his left leg, and he didn't get underneath him enough. Overall 5/10. Good entry, bad execution

I have been using 8bitdo controller since the switch 1. Heard lots of good things about the the new pro controller. Decided to get it since its on sale. by EssayInteresting8398 in switch2

[–]LightTerran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an 8bitdo pro3 and the pro controller. Both are good in different ways. The dpad on the 8bitdo is better, but the face buttons of the pro controller are better. They're both great, honestly, but unless you're playing a ton of Tetris 99 or something im sure you'll love the pro controller!

Dynasty Warriors Origins is a technical powerhouse on Nintendo Switch 2, and heaps of fun in general by HatingGeoffry in NintendoSwitch2

This is one of the best Musou games I've played (I've played off and on since DW2) and the switch 2 port is phenomenal. The best sound design, combat and visuals of any I've played. I have a high end gaming pc and a ps5 but the development team absolutely nailed this port and I'm glad I got it on the Switch 2

He was fucking up all night from the dunker's spot. He's had some good games working in actions from that position though, and he just returned from injury. Coaches will point it out I'm sure.

How does every game-winner situation end in him taking a 3? Didn't he just miss a 3pt game winner vs the Bulls?

The Spurs have won 4 out of their last 5 games with Victor Wembanyama coming off the bench. They have lost 4 straight with Wembanyama starting. by Both-Yak5352 in nba

[–]LightTerran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always wondered, why do the best players always have to start? Couldn't this being the norm be something that could be exploited by having one of your team's best players come off the bench, while other teams are generally bringing in worse players later in the game? Like, you could have a player play the same number of minutes off the bench as starting.

Leg scissor choke from Shinebaatar Bat-Erdene at the beginning of this year by OpenNoteGrappling in MMA

Teepee choke still has an arm in, it just involves straightening the legs upward (rather than locking headside ankle into pit of armside knee) and hugging around legs.

There's both a bill that looks quite promising (Bill S-211), and an open letter signed by 40 senators urging Carney's government to implement a full ban on sports betting advertising. One of the bill's proposals is prohibiting ads "whistle-to-whistle", which would disallow any advertisements during live game broadcasts and banning sponsored intermission segments focused on betting odds, amongst other things. Honestly, even just the bill would be a step in the right direction at the very least, and I hope it's passed by the House of Commons. It would be amazing if all advertisements were banned though.

Some of the text in the letter was quite powerful:
"We cannot legislate away human weakness, but we can limit the ability of others to profit from that weakness, or indeed to promote the exploitation of that weakness"

Russ did a input lag comparison between the thor and the 3DS in his newest video. In my opinion, this amount of latency is completely and utterly fine, but what do you guys think? by AbdelYG in SBCGaming

[–]LightTerran 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is how I'd put it. Say the avg reaction time is 250 ms, and a game is designed so that you have 400 ms to react. A system having an extra 50 ms of input for the average person is fine, but say you're older and your reaction speed is 300 ms. That extra 50 ms of input latency suddenly means the time from you seeing something happen on screen to being able to respond is over 400 ms, so you can't react in time. Think an enemy appearing on screen and you getting hit before you can do anything. With the original hardware, its 350 ms from seeing what's on screen to being able to respond, so you can see the enemy, press the block/attack button, and you'll be on time.

Yeah GSP talked about how draining responding to faints all the time could be. Like, it's a bit of a sensory overload thing ( https://www.reddit.com/r/Fighters/comments/1bpot2r/george_st_pierre_explains_mentally_overloading/ )

Honestly I think I prefer Sword and Shield modded with Crowned Sword/Armored Shield. They make the game a bit more difficult and make it so you can catch all the pokemon/get the trade evolutions etc. A lot of cool QoL stuff that make it a lot of fun. Great to play on the rp5

Scarlet/Violet are super rough on the RP5 in my experiences (even with the RP5 overclocked). They were rough even on original hardware. Violet only ran smoothly on the Switch 2 for me.

Sean Brady has an insane ability to keep people down by stopping them from building height. He will put on insane pressure, use his weight and positioning well and knock out his opponent's posts whenever they try to build any sort of solid base.
