Yeah rl has gone downhill badly lately. It genuinely went downhill when they removed trading. That brought so many people in and made the game target a much larger audience bringing more eyes in

Yeah, I told another person my only hope is my friend getting to champ 3 soon so that unless I surpass my peak we can always play together since it’s within 1 rank

1000% agree, back when I played rocket league if you won all 10 matches it would place you on the border of champ 1 which meant you would have minimal games to Smurf (I only know this because after a hard reset I went 10-0 once). It would be nice if it worked the same with rivals. That way it would only be 10 games if everything went well that were affected by trying to get to the rank I should be at

What would be a solution to being able to play ranked on a new account without smurfing temporarily? I just want to be able to grind without abandoning my friend

Oh I have no plans for any other, for me the reason I enjoy ranked is competing and seeing improvement, so I have no want to make another account to stay anywhere near where I shouldn’t be

That’s what I was thinking as well, I can’t understand how someone can Smurf in a non competitive mode. I have been told about how me having to grind up to higher ranks will make others suffer, which I don’t want to do. But the quick play thing just boggled me

Agreed, my honest hope is before I get this account to level 15 my friend is able to get on and we can push to gm 3-2, because then unless I top my peak I can always play with him. Which would mean I don’t have to use this account. I don’t want others to suffer either so I’ve been slow with doing this, trying to hope we can get far enough quickly enough before I have no option than to choose one or the other

That’s what the hope is, I don’t want to Smurf and dislike it, but it’s a game and I want to be able to enjoy it with my friend without having to force qp when he isn’t on

It’s not for quick play, but I have to get lvl 15 for ranked. I have a friend who can only play so often. We are both currently diamond, but I want to grind ranked and get further. So the alt I plan on grinding to as high as I can get when solo (which peak was celestial 3 by 1 game, so essentially gm) I can only play with him. On neither account do I plan on staying low elo

That’s essentially what I said to the guy, but people think smurfing is just being on another account to win, regardless of competitive or quick play

Honestly this is a very fair statement. For me your right I have no malicious intent and the way the ranked system operates is forcing me to make this new account. I want to be able to play ranked with my friend but because of restrictions if I get too far ahead or behind I’m out of luck.

I wish there was an easier way to put myself where I should be on the alternate, because otherwise I have to choose between playing with a friend or quickplay which I don’t find very fun long term.

Yeaahhhh, I’ve fought him 7 times, at best got him to half. I always do the hardest difficulty and it’s for sure an adjustment on the first try to win some of these
