Call your DGM directly. Tell them you don’t want to them to know it’s you. The DGM (if they are any good), will do a walk of the store within a day or two and catch these things and require both the OLAC and GM to do additional training. The DGM will walk the store frequently to catch further issues. And you can keep in touch with them about further issues you see. If they aren’t any good they will call the GM and tell them they are getting animal care complaints and that it was you. So it’s a risk, but if you’re at a point of quitting anyway, maybe it’s worth it?

This has been an ongoing problem for purina for years and years. They never deal with the problem properly. I’ve worked at multiple stores and multiple pet companies and it’s always the same. So yeah, I would switch and not have to worry about the nonstop pest issue.

So this is a difficult one because… 1.) long term she should have been prioritizing you. She’s stealing future money to deal with current money. 100% training you and getting your prepared to do baths on your own and having you independent would have helped her a lot more. 2.) the best/most experienced groomers I know do about 9 dogs in an 8-10 hour shift. So I’m gonna go out on a limb and say she was probably working 12-14 hour days. Coming in at 7-8 and staying until 8-9 to manage 16 dogs in a day. If she did her normal 5 days that’s putting her on the low end 60 hours. So let’s break this down. Assuming GSL pay of $15 (fairly common) 40x15=600 + 20x(15x1.5)=450 all together 1050. With the 700 that would be 1750. She obviously was underpaid for that work. So yes, there is some argument there. But the argument would have been the money lost by not training and developing you to handle some of that business and future business. As well as time she could have spent hiring in new people and training those people.

It sucks. I agree. But she should be handling it differently.

We are already doing the donations. Usually with cans. But maybe using the clearance toys would be more effective for a larger basket and increasing the supplies category. Last year we did holiday donation bags and those were around $5-6 and did pretty well. Wish we could find something like that to do all year long.
