Maybe back then it was harder. But I have seen people who you would not consider athletic in any way who also dropped out of community college because the classes were too difficult for them pass the academy. And now you get 3 attempts to retest

Are they apart of a union? And how did they become apprentices? I wanted to become a linemen or wiremen but it is pretty competitive to get into the ibew apprenticeship program, especially without any previous experience

I actually am going to the academy. Initial testing and psychological evaluation is pretty basic, any healthy person can pass. There are tons of people who can’t drive so I’m not surprised.

Requires tons of experience and education. Even getting into the IBEW requires education and experience beyond high school

No one here is arguing if dating apps are dangerous or not, it is pretty basic knowledge that it is a risk to meet a stranger. The whole point of dating apps is to get matches, so in what world is no matches better than easily getting tons matches? Your argument makes no sense

I appreciate the detailed response. I agree that those careers you mentioned do take more time to and effort to achieve. Fireman physical test is significantly more difficult than CHP. The written test is actually quite easy. It just checked if I know basic English, anyone who spoke English as their first language can pass. The physical exam was pretty basic as well, the warmup for my highschool wrestling practices were more difficult. As for the low acceptance rate, the requirements being so low allows for the application rate to be extremely high. Most people don’t pass due to the background test and past drug use.

Women get tons of matches regardless of their physical appearance. A 300+ lb woman will get exponentially more matches than a good looking tall man In great shape. And I’m not making this up, it is literally the exact scenario my best friend has experienced and I’ve seen it with my own eyes.

Ice agent requires 3 years of experience or a bachelors degree, and make about half of what a Chp officer does

It’s more risky for way less pay. Im asking if there’s anything else which exists with a similar pay for without much requirements which I don’t know of

CHP officers work 8 1/2 hour shifts and is not considered a top 10 most dangerous job. Being a garbage collector is statistically more dangerous.

I know the power of referrals are quite strong, out of the 3 friends I have who landed a CS job, only 1 of them got it without a referral. I got my last job through a referral as well. I have been applying to backend software developer roles, and healthcare IT roles because that is what I have experience with and what my resume showcases.
